Can any sales rep give their opinion on the compensation plan for ID / Sybron? I hear unlike other implant companies you don't get any comm. for existing sales, just the new sales you bring on. What kind of crap is that. Are the Sybron managers looking to fix this broken division or are they not trying to hire competent reps with experience and contacts? Sounds like a Niz dick trick to me.

Not sure there is any managers left from Sybron on the Implant side, but who are they and what is there plan to stop this madness. Reps deserve to make an honest living. They expect commissions from $$$ one even is its less % than new business. I can't believe they are going along with Niznicks plan to screw the reps. Hope they get rid of him and let him spin another web in the implant market.

I'm not sure this is even possible. How can you not get paid on continued sales to prior accounts? Aren't those essentially new sales even if to existing customers? Or are you saying you only get paid on the increase from and existing account? So then when do you then get paid, in November or December? Don't try and tell me existing accounts are growing at 40% each year and even if that were the case you would start getting paid over base in July or August.

Can't imagine Niznick would be this stupid or Kennedy either for that matter. Once ID gets an account I would think Niznick would want it serviced otherwise his hoped for year to year growth rate will implode.

i worked for niz - short time, bad mistake
he thinks reps are garbage and treats them like that
he is incharge there and knows that to keep his pricing and business model that costs need to stay down and he does not care about his customers b/c in his mind his customers do not need their hands held and probably do not want to see a rep in their office
according to one of niz's posting on dt he stated that prices will not go up and he will be there for another two years - i cant see their prices staying the same and unfortunately him being their two years is not a good thing for the big guys-
    only time will tell

Its quite simple - take the sales for your territory for 2010 and that is the base line for 2011. Divide the 2010 number by 12 and that is your monthly quota above which you get a commission. 2010 numbers are averaged starting in January 2010 so the average will be about 30% less than what should be expected for 2011 given the growth the company is experiencing. If you drop below the average in any month, you make no commission and have to make up the difference the following month before you make a commission. That way. Existing customers are maintained by an inside sales partner so the outside salespeople can concentrate on conversions. With all the new products the company keeps launching, and the growing sales force, inside and out, Implant Direct continues to grow faster than any company in the industry. For example, Zest is a $50M company and ID just launched the only compatible abutment. They also launched Zirconia on Titanium abutments at $120. They are expanding into biologics and are converting SIS customers so there is plenty of pressure pushing up sales which is the best assurance that any rep can have that he or she will make money and keep their job.

This biz model is wrong in many ways. Basically, SIS reps are like copier or payroll reps, move on to the next sale while inside customer service reps handles the acct. GP's are not your typical acct, they are small biz people who like to deal with the rep in an on-going relationship. The GP's and specialist in my area would NOT go for this. Also, with this comp plan, why would anyone come work for you? It is below market value, like your product line.

Existing customers are "maintained" by an inside sales partner? On what planet does that work? You have no clue as to what you're talking about and it's why you'll fail, among other reasons obvious to respected clinicians.

Lots of companies with mature products have an installed base sales team, that handles existing customers. It can be a very successful model. Implants are becoming a mature product and while certain implant reps would have you believe that their dentists would only use a product with an onsite sales rep, that can be disproven regularly in today's marketplace.

To the poster referrencing copier or payroll reps be aware that top reps in those industries are making $250K to $500K per year. If you're lookng for your sit around job for 120K per year forget it, that was 5+ years ago...time to sell, if you can, which I doubt.

For those of you who want to push and be aggressive and feel your job then get with it. For the others go to the bar and lament over your circumstances.

The post tauting the benefits of getting paid only on growth must be from the total jerk off and Niznick mouthpiece from Phoenix. Sure, in the beginning of any start up sales growth can be in double digits-only because there were no sales the year before. But, if you look at an industry like implants which is growing in a GOOD year at 2-3%, how does one expect to survive on a 6% commissions of 3% growth? Lets say a territory does $200,000 in year 1. 3% growth of $200,000 would be $6000. So in year two the territory does 206,000.
Niznick pays 6% commission of that increase or $360 -FOR THE WHOLE FUCKING YEAR. Wow, I made a whopping $360 last year in commissions, $30 a month. SIGN ME UP! Lets see should I sell shoes or implants?

Doesn't work for experienced, knowledgeable sales people. Works for recent college grads, clueless new to implant salespeople and washed up, burned out reps and new to sales housewives.

Low price=low service, high price=high service. ID falls into the first category. There are whores out there looking to do implants for as cheap as possible. 95% of ID business is GP. 0% are American universities. 100% are low quality providers.

This fool who always fires back with "what about 40 machines running 24/7" is why they are a band of jokers. Prove real market share and sales--which they never reveal. Implant companies selling 50 times the product they do don't have 40 running 24/7. It's not proof or a corrolation to what you actually sell.

Check out Factory video cams at www.implantdirect.com and count the machines yourself. If they have a light on, they are running. 1 machine can make6000 implants or abutments per month. What say you now geenuous?

I'd say you're not paying attention, Einstein. I didn't say the machines aren't running--I said it is not proof of what you have SOLD. It's typical nonsense from Niznick--just like the "innovative" taglines. You guys can't win with smoke and mirrors and will never appeal to specialists, so keep the lights on and running if it makes you happy.

Might be a dumb question but here it goes:

Is it possible that Niznick makes implants for 3rd party vendors that don't make their own, and sell it to international/emerging markets? I'm in a big market, and I see very little implant direct.

We make abutments compatible with all major connections as well as 11 different systems. By the end of this year were will have A second factory with room for another 24 machines making only our products including Zirconia abutments and a replacement for Locator abutments for all major systems. We can sell everything we can make.

...and I'm the Grand Poobah of Sillytown. I've never even seen one of your components in my territory. Maybe you can sell them to the dentists in this Bizzaro world you inhabit.

Its tru though. It works b'cuz the comp plan is shared between the inside rep & the outside rep, All I can say is that when you pay me like shit, you get shit service. Let the glorified telemarketers grow the existing business, they cant do much else outside of that. Grow 35% and you get 5% of that . He shoulda just paid us fairly and built loyalty with us - I would break my back but im not and still growing cuz why not. The only person that works hard in this company is fugly Mini-Me who is Dr. Niznick's personal cum bucket and personal "Soda" getter ~~ man that dude is pathetic. Take that moron with yuo Niztler and I'll forgive all the shit you've done.
