like: do we need to hire sales rep? or is it better to find a local distributor to work with?

sure we need to attend the shows, conferences, if possible. and they are doing so in the past couple years.
Just want to know some info in this field.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend and what your expected ROI is. If you hire Reps, you would get a much better return on Investment, but not for the first 3-5 years. Reps salary and expenses are going to be one of your biggest out lay of cash. Not many sales people will work on straight commission on a start up company. If you go with a distributor, you have to realize that they will not push your products exclusively, they will push what is being marketed by the manufacture and what sells the best. If you go with a distributor, be prepared to let your product sit on their shelves for a while until you prove yourself. If it where me, I would go with a good rep who is salaried and bonus incentive. This way they will work hard to get the bonuses and if they are good, they can work their way up your corporate ladder.
