Foot & Ankle Division....

    Just wondering, saw Stryker started a new foot & ankle division. Any comments on this division (pay, marketplace, etc etc). Seems like a solid opportunity. Thanks!

    Solid opportunity if you like competing with your own company!! asshole trauma reps are trying subvert the whole division. Upper Management doesn't do SHIT...just lets it all happen while regional managers take it up the ass from Trauma side so they can still have a job when the F & A division folds. where are you foot and Ankle reps??? Say something! You know you all hate the situations and your managers as well!!!

    What did you expect? You think the trauma reps are gonna just sit back and watch their business get taken away without putting up a fight?

    The Foot & Ankle rep in my area is killing it with the MMI Anchor plates......and he has taken a couple big docs from Wright. Not sure about the comments on the Trauma reps but it seems to be OK down here. seems like a good thing in a good market if Stryker sticks with it

    With Tornier buying OrthoHelix and Wright Medical focusing on F&A....seems like a great space to be in. Stryker is well positioned to take this space....What are the other big boys doing in this space? Zimmer? Biomet? S&N?

    This division has been a disaster. The structure from the beginning has been against the f and a reps and for the trauma reps. The average billing for a f and a case is low. Yes the MMI products have been a nice addition to the bag for f and a but the majority of the podiatrist do not do much mid or rear foot work with them. Some reps are doing well but most are struggling simply due to the structure and the trauma reps keeping the f and a trained Ortho drs.

    The F&A reps will struggle until Q2 of 2013. Stryker is launching an entire bag of products geared towards the podiatrist. So in addition to MMI, you will have a whole new line of foot creams and orthotics. The future looks bright! Tell me what does it look like on the bottom looking up? Recon and Trauma laugh at you rookies.

    What a pompous remark. Get your head out of your ass. There are young reps out there trying to break into this industry and are willing to bust their ass to grow the business. Keep up that attitude. They'll take your job one day pal. You laugh at them ? Get serious.

    Typical remarks from Jerkoff Trauma Reps...some of the biggest assholes in the industry. Yes, the Fand A division will fold and then the Trauma pricks will jump in. But just wait till the DPM's want you there for every screw case, every plate case and hammertoe. Then you will wish for the F and A division to come back. Too bad you are all so fuckin' full of yourselves to realize this. Oh, and it was never your product line you pricks!

    The Trauma Pricks are being Greedy and trying to pick everything up because they do not have a full bag and can't compete. You are correct that they are a bunch of Greedy Pricks that are all overpaid on Guarantees/Salaries because they can't grow their business enough to get off the company tity.

    Bottom Line - They Suck!!!!

    There are a couple of very good foot and ankle reps in Ohio. And they manage to work with the trauma reps.

    If you get the right rep in that job, will be a successful model.

    That plan may work in Ohio or the sticks of Iowa, but it sure as hell doesn't work up here in the northeast. The trauma reps here are some of the greediest, self-serving, arrogant, pompous a-holes. Especially the 6 or 7 on ET's team already making $250-300/yr. I would love to hear from one of these guys denying u don't make that much money or how u "deserve" it because you're on call on the weekends once a month and work SO hard telling doctors how to put in a Gamma nail

    Who is the new Director of Marketing in Chicago for F&A? The Stryker website says this position has been filled.

    Interesting that this division is in Trauma business unit. Why not combine Joint Preservation and F&A for a Sports Medicine Business Unit?

    Any chance Stryker would buy Wright Medical for its F&A business? Tornier and Wright are clearly for sale. Tornier is not profitable and Wright has had it's DOJ issues.

    This just in... Foot & Ankle reps making more money than Trauma reps (and) have their nights and weekends. Yea, sounds terrible.

    yeah, foot and ankle rep in my area has been dropping his pants on pricing and getting some market share. guess he doesnt realize the guarantee isnt forever and next year he will be up against a number or he will be replaced by two junior reps who would be happy to split his guarantee

    It was filled a few months ago by BD (arthroscopy division). Chicago makes no sense. Should have remained in NJ and VG should be the business unit leader. After all, he built the business post acquisition. BD is in for a rough ride, despite current growth trends.
