Hi, new to diagnostic lab sales, what are the commissions like in diagnostic lab works involving a cancer center, family practice and cardiology? Any input will be appreciated.

The lab industry is finished. Accurate will be out of business within 18 months . Most regional labs do not par with most insurances. Go to quest or labcor

If you want to be in the clinical lab business you go to work for quest ,labcor or some big hospital's. Small regional labs will never survive long term cause they are out of network with most insurances. The new strategy for the insurance company will be to penalize the dr sending to no par labs and how much free testing can the local lab do especially with send out test. Test they do not perform in their own lab. The small lab owners need to sell now while they can get a few dollars from quest or labcor.

Accurate will keep growing. We have a great management team and owner. We do not have every insurance, that is ok. Our collections are really good. Every healthcare provider will not use Accurate, but more than enough are willing. Stop thinking that you are Jesus Christ and all knowing about the lab industry. We will thrive, especially now that other labs are having issues. All professional are welcome, we will take your best, and pay the best. Great place to work. Honesty, respect and great science.

I heard they just landed a stellar manager that robbed another regional lab blind for many many years. so if they haven't gone out of business yet, they surly will now. Good luck to all!

What lab is paying this with the margins the way they are? Bullshit. And if you are paying this kind of commissions it won't be for long.

    1st year- 6-8%
    after- 2-3% life

Depending on type of work. Also regional labs that are par with Aetna, United and local BC/BS will be fine. The tox and pgx labs are dying. Go to a full service lab as they are the labs that are in-network. All insurers want regional competition to Labcorp & Quest, but they only contract with full service labs. The issue becomes does the regional lab have the cost structure to survive at the par rate, which are anywhere form 40%-60% of the Medicare CLFS. My lab can survive, so we will be fine. All the reps on here bitching work for the wrong labs. Accurate will be fine as their cost structure is fine as they outsource billing, it and customer service to India. If this is the lab you want to work for go ahead. My lab actually hires people in the US!

I was told 9 and 5, or higher with less of a base salary.

Good luck with that. PAMA will reduce all commissions once in full effect. Accurate will be no different than other labs. 9 and 5 seems high. I would be careful about how they bill!

hahahahahaha...... the amount of shit people talk about each other here is comical. I love how everyone in glasses houses thinks theirs is made out of cast iron under the guise of anonymity on here. Funny how the big 3 are always complaining about the shadiness of everyone else. yet they are the ones who pay out millions in undisclosed fines so they don't have to admit guilt. stop worrying about everyone else and worry about yourself...
