    The PB980 Universal Model Ventilator is designed for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients. This action is being taken in response to reports in which tidal volumes reaching patients were lower than set tidal volumes in neonatal volume control plus (VC+) mode with active humidification. This situation may potentially lead to respiratory compromise if not recognized.

    Stupidest thing I've heard. Never owned one I take it. Perhaps you meant to say temperamental, impractical and expensive? That's what it has in common with the 980.

    Whoever compared the 980 to a 911 committed sacrilege.

    The issue isn't whether the news is old. The issue is whether it is clinically relevant, affects hospital operations and puts patients at risk while also looking at the cadence, severity and scope of the recalls since launch roughly 18 months ago. Yes it's a big freaking deal. These are patients on a vent, not wearing a knee brace.

    So much of this could have been mitigated if senior mgmt didn't bypass normal development protocols and fast track the project because of RoHS compliance and 840 revenue shortfall issues. Shady assholes!
