The subpar debate ends in the achieves of the rep...

When a strong rep has a nose dive or unexpected turn something is off. Its doubtful a good rep can go from awards and results to bottom and primed for exit..

Think the sniff test is needed when anyone with good production turns cut eligible.

People aren't cut because they suck. They are cut because they pissed off the wrong people who are paranoid to begin with. If you're not union there is no protection. That's anywhere at Merck. I have seen really good people get cut because they questioned the direction of upper management. A good way to get cut is by saying I think we can do this a better way. Why do you think the best scientists are no longer here? The MBA's are the problem. They are idiots but yell the loudest. They also have the ear of the decision makers. Scientists don't have a podium to speak.

    You're supposition is logical.
Solid performers don't suddenly hit the skids.

But the "achieves" of the rep?
Is that like a construct, an install or a fail?

Have Americans become so lazy they can't even bother to say or spell an entire word?

    archives = history....

The long and winding road that leads to where you are.....

These days it's filled with dead ends, detours and road blocks....mostly all by executive design.

If you want to keep your job, keep your mouth shut unless you have something positive to say. Don't express ANYTHING negative that can be traced back to you -- legitimate or otherwise.

This is unfortunately true. Companies don't like to hear anything negative and they send strong signals to discourage any negative feedback.

Or just tell your boss other employees are saying negative things. Target the people with weak personalities that can't defend themselves.

    The evolving MRK?
Back-stabbing and sabotage for personal pleasure and/or advancement.
    Lovely.

Weak personalities? Wrong term sounds more like the softies and mild mannered . They're not backbiting types and might be perceived as easy picks for the brutes in this place.

Maybe the should by bullied. Softies and mild mannered men are sweet. Until a real man is needed. If they can't stickup for themselves how can they still up for family or work. They never get promoted and stay low level until it's time to go.

No one deserves to be bullied or harassed no matter who they are. Needing a discussion on this is like needing to be sent to the high school guidance counselor.

Sure. It called thinning out the pack. I would rather have them remove the weak. It's called life. Ever wonder why someone has been here 15 years and never moved up? Same thing happens everywhere.

Listen, whether you are a rep or ctl, this pharma gig aint a career. Only viable if you are single, childless or a dink couple where one spouse makes $$ not related to pharma. Love the managers who brag about retiring with 1.5-2 million. That money wont last and if you have kids you might as well throw half away now for college, weddings and that potential failure to launch tike sleeping on your sofa at age 25. Do your homework. Even a dink couple retiring at age 62 with no debt needs 4 million. That money might support two people for 25-30 years only if you add on hefty inheritenced. Pathetic how folks work all their lives for a meager lump sum or bridge when they should have diversified earlier with land, re, business on the side. Enjoy your trailer park retirement fools.

You have to keep all of your talk focused on your doctors, and just be polite with your manager at all times, even if they are a loser.

That is the only way to survive.

If you have a manager trying to push you out, then document or look for another job. Never say anything negative or throw others under the bus, because it is a bad play.

Never trust HR or Management, as they are the enemy and mostly pigs in vomit.

Never want those who are dis-kings or dis-queens to change. Hush and move on to another job. It's negative to want civility!

Some people ask to be bullied. R and D is a perfect example. Those scientists are a bunch of pussies. The best part is they are the lowest paid department at Merck. How did you think the MBA's took the department over. Just a bunch of weak people.

    They get what they deserve.

So yes some people deserve to be bullied.
