Cardinal doesn't value their employees. In their opinion it is your privilege to work for them.

Give them an average day's work, keep your mouth shut and take your earnings home and enjoy your family and friends. Don't let them get you down, just take the money you have earned and try not to waste your time or thoughts about this company. with any luck maybe you'll find one of the few good managers to work for.

Feels like something shitty is going to happen soon.

Can't put my finger on it, but things are not right lately.

 

Cardinal use to be a great place to work but in the early 90's they determined that they didn't need to pay their folks at the 95th percentile but dropped them to the 65th. So, if you were making $200K you were not down to $80K and a car. All the talented sales and management folks either left or were forced out. How do I know this? Because that came from one of the Senior VP in HR.
They are in the mode of reducing their OP expense and benefits, while staying very close to the GPOs for their contracts. They feel it is less expensive to pay fees than to pay their people.
As a result, you have got order takers. Many of these order takers have been promoted and mediocrity permiates the organization. Originality and creativity is non existent in the management team from frontline and middle management. Fortunately, several of the Cardinal Senior Leaders are very sharp but the ground swell of leadership is thin. Is their any reason why there are more corporate CEO's that came from the early days of American Hospital Supply? That crucible is gone at Cardinal. Too bad..........it was a beautiful thing.

 

Amen to that! Now they are dipping into billing fraud to make the quarterly numbers. Weekly billing makes catching that big error harder to find. That's why the manager and the billing admin are the only ones with doors that lock.

 

Shitty things are afoot at Cardinal Health. They are outsourcing their infrastructure work which means in the short term better profit for the Board of incompetents, the CIO, CEO, and stockholders (if you haven't you might consider selling) and then when people get sick of having their personal data lost or exposed to the world for the taking and start using better companies the asshats at cardinal will decide...to bring things back in house..... unless the cheap bastards come up with an even riskier way to do business!
