Banker Bob is running Amgen like a bank. The pipeline of new drugs has nothing to do with him since the average drug takes 10 years to make it to market. With him laying off all the rearch talent and sending it to China, who will then steal all the best discoveries to fuel their state owned pharma industry. Our only long term hope is buying companies that innovate. We are no longer a biotech company, but one that manages biotech.
Bob is packaging the company to sell. Current share price is based off of that speculation. Fred will get the deal done and Bob will look like a hero for creating more shareholder wealth than anyone would have expected.
