The ProPublica numbers include payments to physicians and teaching hospitals, excluding royalties and research deals. The idea is to zero in on marketing-related payments. They cover the last 5 months of 2013, the most recent data available; the feds recently said they would roll out new Sunshine Act data once a year.

    - here's the ProPublica database*and*top 10 list

Most of these mgrs are total ass clowns. Their heads are stuck in their asses from like 20 years ago with trackers and useless busy work. WTF... Stop trying to make yourselves look good for annual reviews with the BS. You contribute zelch/nothing to the bottom line on this sinking ship and you should be the first to go.

My mgr is a nim rod. Bastard tracks how many times the reps go to the crapper each week and puts it in a metric report with Call averages. Tries to say if we can take one less trip to the crapper each day we can increase our call averages. Poor bastard needs a life!

Aptiom is a useless drug that may have had a market during the time the Topamax, Keppra, Trileptal and other were approved in 1999-2000. Those drugs are all generic, inexpensive etc. Aptiom has no appreciable advantage over almost all other 2nd generation AEDS. In fact interacting with hormonal contraceptives and other issues with Aptiom did not exist with the drugs approved from 1999-2000. Keppra, as with Vimpat, has no drug to drug interactions.

To get reps to sell Aptiom we had to overpay. We overpaid for reps w no CNS experience, no epilepsy experience. Most reps that were doing well at their company did not take the money and move.

The managers that we were able to get were not in CNS, were reps, unemployed etc. No manager with CNS or epilepsy experience and having a job would come here.

So where did they find some of these useless wonders that are mgrs? I have seen some that are demotivating and do more harm than good.

Unemployment, contract companies and companies where they were working as reps. If you have a good company, leadership and a good product, then you attract talent, if not well you have us.

So basically they hired the unemployed and cast offs that no other companies wanted? Why would senior mgmt do something this foolish?
