Attune Tibia issue

As a rep that lived through the ASR and Pinnacle debacle, this will drag on. Depuy did a suspect job of dragging it out until they couldn't hold back the negative data anymore.

 

Look at both UK and Australian registry data. Unlike Stryker reps, the numbers don't lie. Attune revision rate at 1 and 3 years is better than industry average. The fact that reps are going around putting this bug in surgeons' ears is absolutely ridiculous when the only non-biased, credible source of information contradicts what they're saying. This is the newest knee on the market by one of the major orthopedic players, of course it will be under a microscope, but do your homework before spewing misinformation.

 

LOL. The depuy rep in my territory switched his surgeon to Attune and after about a year they just switched back. Rep wont say why but it's very telling. You are under extreme scrutiny and everyone looking at this issue now because of how JnJ/Depuy has lied and lied and lied before. You have lied to the patients, the reps, the surgeons, the government and best of all, eachother at Depuy. You can't deny it because you are paying for it, literally $$$$. So as the most unethical and corrupt company out of all the major players, we salute you Depuy. We don't have to sell against your products, we get to sell against your actions, and that has been the easiest sell of my 17 years at this game.

 

Check yourself middle management. Many hospitals are putting this "bug" in surgeons ears. After the last MAJOR hip loss in court, hospitals are realizing their relationships and sole vender contracts with Depuy are going to cost them as well. Wether you want to believe it or not, this is reality. I suggest you get in the field and stop thinking you know what you are talking about from a cubicle.

It's a problem. I have DePuy surgeons changing bone cement seeing if that makes a difference. The big factor is that the DePuy reps are not reporting the revisions to the MAUDE data base. This is going to haunt DePuy like ASR and Pinnacle. JnJ has deep pockets and maybe billion dollar lawsuits is just the cost of doing business.

 

Problem now is they burned their surgeons 3 times, and that's not sitting well with them.

 

To the people saying surgeons are switching cement, what cement? We have seen 2 different cements used on base plates that came out clean. Simplex and Cobalt. Both on the opposite ends of viscosity.

 

It's not a cement issue, as they will all find out soon enough.

 

It is amazing how much like ASR this feels. Remember how they ran an ad in JBJS stating that amazing short term survivorship from the Australia registry about 6 months before the recall?

The funny thing this time is that Attune is actually worse than Sigma and LCS at the same time period and yet they are still bragging on it.

Why can't we just get a Sigma tray fixation with Attune poly out there just in case?

 

Can't they do that already with the MBT tray and an RP Attune insert? Oh no, they decided to make the cone bigger so it won't fit.

 

I've heard our distributor in the mid west flat out lie to surgeons, lie to reps and lie to accounts about the issue. This is not going to end well!

Nobody is lying just like nobody lied during the ASR issue! Biggest recall in Medical Device history and nobody misled anyone...right!

 

Names of Attune liars please? ASR was a blame game until they figured out the horrible blame game cover up. Blow the whistle on this and win big. If you are real start calling people out.

 

I don't believe that anyone in the field is lying to anyone about Attune. We are all being told that the knee system is performing well and there are no issues by every executive internally. That's what we are being told and that is what we are repeating to our customers. Nobody knows if this is the next ASR or not!

 

So what are you saying? That your incompetent and unethical by not telling your surgeons there may be a problem but management says green light and nothing to worry about? If your ethics are only what JnJ tells you to say then you are green as can be and have no clue what reality you live in. A whistle blower on this case would pay big if it's true, especially with pinnacle still in court.

 

True! If only someone had the least bit of ethics at Depuy. Instead they will pass the blame game along until it sticks somewhere. That poor person has no idea what's coming for them.

 

This will be the next big orthopedic recall! Sound the alarms! Make sure all of your competitive surgeons know that you'd be happy to provide them with the "Getaround knee" when the Attune inevitably gets recalled! Get real, look at the registry data, the revision rate is lower than the industry for cemented TKAs. Just another case of Stryker trying to push their bullshit rhetoric.
