I know I will get lots of shit for asking this but here goes. Spent many years doing medicinal chemistry for AGN before getting axed with the Activis buy. Did all Opthalmic work, primarily glaucoma. Would love to get into sales. Any hope for this with Shire?

Spare the ridicule, sarcasm etc and try to stay on topic please and voice some solid, constructive responses. No sales experience in the traditional sense. Had to sell research ideas everyday but didn't push a drug on docs.

A more appropriate position for you may be a Medical Science Liaison position. At the Shire this position has turned into nothing more than a medical sales position with the metrics of 50 or so calls per quarter and micromanagement.

 

Bottom line, you get payed a lot of money to do nothing.
