The timing is determined by a trial date not your guesswork. You assume the govt wants to settle. Winning at trial = triple damages like GSK foud out. Maybe the govt feels they have a strong enough case not to settle. Besides If NVS wanted this settled it would have been settled by now & we've seen them do plenty of stupid things this would be just another example.

It would be entertaining just to see a jury selection process because there are SO many people sympathetic too big pharma !

One things for certain neither Trump or Hillary are favorable to pharma so overall big pharma scam days will be over sooner rather than later starting with Med D reform & re-importation

Joe is waging his own personal war on compliance, per his webcast. Role model integrity. War against noncompliant behaviors

The whole reason it WILL NOT see a court room is because Nvs knows a jury would NOT be sympathetic, AND they know they are guilty, and this process takes time, to be specific, Discovery Time.

It WILL get settled. It WILL not be quick. It WILL be a lot of money.
AND Finally It WILL be the end of your Speaker Bureau Programs.

You can take that to the bank, I personally guarantee it, AND I will come back a year from now to tell you I told you so!

So just be patient for now lol

Fat chance! That's literally the ONLY way they know how to sell. Everything, marketing, promotions, raises, stock options you name it is predicated on who bribes docs the best.
Look at dumbtrusto! Speakers account for what like 80% of scripts?

You'd need a cultural upheaval where (new) management recognizes long term employees that build sustainable relationships are valuable & that just doesn't jive with the churn & burn the reps philosophy or managing by the fear of constant layoffs, useless metrics & overall intimidation.

Seems like the elites are content with business as usual aka cost of doing business model is OK even if you pay the occasional fine. So no don't expect any change.

Chances ARE slim, you are correct, unless someone pulls back the curtain.
Exposure leads to Outrage, Outrage leads to Change.
Change is coming AND it won't be voluntary.
Get those programs in while you can....

Odds are many people have BEEN to (1 or 100) of these o_O

"80,000 “sham” events in which the government says doctors were wined and dined so they would prescribe the company’s cardiovascular drugs to their patients.

The Swiss drugmaker and the Manhattan U.S. Attorney are engaged in a lawsuit that alleges Novartis provided illegal kickbacks to health-care providers through bogus educational programs at high-end restaurants and sports bars where the drugs were barely discussed."

    SEEMS CONSISTENT W/NVS "CULTURE" GLOBALLY

Six former and current Novartis executives at its Korean unit were indicted Monday on charges of paying more than $2 million to doctors in return for prescribing its medicines, a company spokesman confirmed.

Novartis spokesman wrote us that “we have acknowledged and regret that certain associates in Korea conducted small medical meetings and other scientific related activities through trade journals … We have also acknowledged that some associates supported travel to overseas congresses for some health care practitioners in a way that did not fully comply” with industry standards.

The company, he continued, “does not tolerate misconduct” and is implementing a remediation plan based on the findings of an internal investigation. However, he added that “we reject the implication that the alleged conduct was sanctioned by the most senior management of Novartis Korea. This indictment pertains to actions taken by certain associates in Korea which are inconsistent with and not reflective of Novartis’s policies and culture.”

This is hardly an isolated incident, though. In fact, drug makers continue to be regularly scrutinized for paying what amounts to kickbacks to physicians and health officials to boost prescriptions for their medicines and Novartis has figured prominently in recent months.

Last March, the NOVARTIS agreed to pay $25 million to settle charges that it violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by making illegal payments to health care providers in China. Novartis employees at two different Chinese subsidiaries gave money, gifts, vacations, and entertainment, among other things, to health care professionals between 2009 and 2011, according to US authorities.

That same month, an anonymous whistleblower accused Novartis of paying bribes in Turkey by using a consulting firm to boost the use of its medicines. The alleged bribes reportedly resulted in $85 million in benefits to the company. The firm aided the drug maker by getting medicines added to formularies, or list of treatments that were approved for use in government-run hospitals. The Novartis spokesman said an internal probe found that the allegations were unsubstantiated, but the company is working with the authorities.

In the United States, Novartis faces a trial later this year over allegations that the company violated federal anti-kickback laws and ran tens of thousands of “sham” events used to encourage doctors to prescribe several medicines. Last year, the drug maker paid a $390 million settlement over charges of inducing specialty pharmacies to boost prescriptions. Both cases stemmed from whistleblower lawsuits.

The bullshit is Novartis calling their activities industry standards, like Lance Armstrong calling his PED use Cyling Sport Standards.

Just because Novartis & a bunch of other pharma crooks decide to label their misdeeds self described 'standards' doesn't make it acceptable or legal.

Same M.O. when the PHRMA lobby threw $100 million fast & furious $$$ to congress & senate to sneak in No reimportation or ability of medicare to negotiate prices like the VA which will cost taxpayers Trillion+ over say 2 decades , more if it doesn't get reversed. 16 congressmen & senators got jobs with the pharma lobby & the head scumbag congressman Billy Tauzin took a $2 million a year job with the PHRMA lobby within weeks of the vote aka pay to play bribes

IN fact that this is the same garbage where they're caught with their pants down in So many countries ; USA , Italy , Russia, France , Japan , China, S. Korea , India & on & on speaks volume to their real culture they alway try to spin as 'isolated' Really isolated ? Hopefully the USA & Swiss execs begin to see indictments.
