Just cause you have a sack with 2 balls does not make you well hung.!! Same logic applies to Craptiom.

not really her fault. Look west and blame the ASD who took a mediocre rep from another company and recruited her as a DM. With no management experience it was a guess as to whether she would be a good manager. If you are unhappy with the manager blame Shelly Daul.
and if you want to blame Shelly ask yourself this question: when was the last time that anyone here made a good decision?

There were other bad hiring decisions by our ASD in the manager realm.

I believe that there may not have been a lot of good managers to choose from. Despite there being still many unemployed managers, attracting anyone to be an Aptiom DM was a challenge. What we ended up with were people with no management experience, contract sales managers or managers that had to leave their prior situation.

Hiring good reps was also a challenge, we had to overpay and attracted reps. w no neurology, epilepsy experience.

I don't think we can call it a launch anymore people. We can refer to it as a failed launch when discussing the product but, trust me, we've been out way too long to still be claiming we are still in launch mode. We are now in cry like a little woman and shutter under the bed mode cuz we failed to launch and are now all wondering if we will still have jobs in 3 months.

Aptiom reps unite!! I think it is time to start phase two of the plan someone posted above. "...GO ON A TOTAL OFFENSIVE ABOUT HOW BAD OUR MANAGED CARE PEOPLE ARE." It's time to start blaming the poor performance on terrible formulary coverage. We've squeezed out all the juice we can from the marketing excuse. Let's hit managed care hard! This has to come from everyone. Specialists, DBL's... Full court press to shift the attention to how bad they are. Get their management team to mandate trackers of plans where Vimpat is advantaged vs. Aptiom from a ST or PA perspective. Get them to put some focus on this product and at least get some clinical presentations at all these plans where we are PA's or st'd and vimpat isn't.

This should buy us time through summer and then when the monotherapy indication ever comes that will be what sinks us. Until then, everyone shift from blaming marketing to blaming our managed care people. DO IT NOW!! Good luck and stay on point!! See you all at the movies, on a golf course or at a mall somewhere tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is a Friday.

Good luck and great pretending to SELL!

Craptiom mgrs are highly unqualified. Most got pulled out of the unemployment line without even having epilepsy exp and spend all there time trying to over compensate for their low skill sets.

Very hard hitting comments! Well written, yet pointless.

Pointless? Exactly what I thought when I just read your post.

I'm half heartedly in. I'll blame managed care with as much zest as I'm promoting Aptiom. Let's throw sales analysis under the bus too.

Let's face it. Crap drug and we work in a crap division. I envision that we will all be severed and replaced by contract sales team with the next 6 months. Does anyone even have enough Rx's to cover their base salary? I don't and I don't know anyone who does. Almost 3 years post launch that is just sad :(.
