Hearing this is the end of PC officially. Anyone else heard this? And please no jokes about PC already being over. I know that. Just want to know what's happening in November? We need to demand answers from EH and our "leadership" team.

I'm in field so I don't know for sure. I don't think anyone knows for sure especially on CP. OP let me ask you why did you say Nov 2014? Who did you hear this from?

Heard this too. No one from leadership, whether ABL, MD, or VP will confirm or deny a date. Demanding answers from people who will not or cannot tell you is a waste of effort.

Let's use our heads here. Chronic Care (Jesus Leal's group) owns LCZ. In the National teleconference with Christy Shaw, the "leadership" mentioned that they are negotiating with CC for how PC will enter launch plans. This drug, when it becomes officially approved may or may not have PC to help.

Also, when asked about BD&L opportunities, the leadership said they aren't being as aggressive due to LCZ potential. This as just written is not a guarantee.

Exelon Patch, even if the patent lasted 4 more years, cannot be profitable given the overhead of PCBU.

November is a good time to make a change. All but specialist go. If LCZ gets approved in 2015, then Novartis will have the specialist in position to help CC if needed.

PC will be done in February 2015 with announcement in Jan 2015. Take this to the bank. Moving forward there will be slight cuts in HQ, IHC, and reshuffling MSBU. No more dual territories etc. But these divisions will be, mostly, untouched. At least compared to PC which will be done 100 percent. My 0.02 is look for a job now. If you don't then you are either in denial or just plain talentless.

what about LCZ? I thought this was going to save the primary care rep. If they do away with PC who gets to sell this drug? Or is it just to far away to think about. I think they will keep a small number of PC reps. Now that the patch is safe, they could send people back to the internal med doc and just wait for LCZ. I going with a cut in half of primary and a launch of a totally new BU. Probably with a model that fits with the changing landscape of pharma.

Unless you have some sweet little territory, I dont know to many people that want to stay.

Stop! LCZ is Chronic Care's drug. Primary Care has nothing to do with this. LCZ will be approved sometime in 2015.

The Patch news regarding the patent is great news for the companies Revenue, but they cannot support the overhead of an entire field force on this one product.

February 2015 is a good time to make a business decision.

If EP does not support the overhead, why wait until Feb and not just cut the fat now?

Just like Galvus, Ilaris, Arcapta and Serelaxin were supposed to save PC jobs? NVS has gone from 5000 PC reps to 450 in five years. Use your noggin...

They are trying to drive as much sales as possible until a date that is fixed. After this fixed date, they have figured out that a field force would not be needed, as this could not allow for a positive revenue. Very simple.

Also, the new RRP plan was introduced at the right time. Basically, it is a device that would cause internal downsizing for PC. Since many reps in the new plan are going to generate a bonus of $0, the company is assuming these people would be angry and frustrated and fund new work. Those that find new work do not have to be given a package in February 2015 as they won't be here. It's an internal downsizing tool that will save the company a tin before the announcements. All part of the plan.

Consistent with the changes to the market caused by Obamacare.

Oh please....stop the Obamacare blame game. When you are on the umemployment line for the next 3 years, it will be your insurance lifeline.

Yes and no. Obama care is causing changes, no doubt. But what is written above is consistent with a just creating revenue.

Everyone in PC, even specialists should be looking for work - now. Unless you just want a package.

Me too! And loveing it! There is really a better life, regardless of pay, outside Novartis. You really realize how controlled your life was and how brainwashed you have been when you leave. I know many folks are younger and need higher paychecks to support a family, but you would be surprised at how much you can cut back and survive just fine living pleasantly. I would advise all to hang in there to get the package if you can, but if not anything is better than staying in this lousy, dying industry. If you are young, find a new career. If you are not....count your blessings and trim the budget and you'll see, life can be much better and you'll be happier if you have faith and make the break! Good luck to all of you! I survived and am extremely happy now that I've been blessed to get a package in the last go araound.
