hara-kiri (här`ə-kēr`ē, hăr`ə–) [Jap.,=belly-cutting], the traditional Japanese form of honorable suicide, also known by its Chinese equivalent, seppuku. It was practiced by the Japanese feudal warrior class in order to avoid falling into enemy hands. Around 1500, it became a privileged alternative to execution, granted to daimyo
    *and samurai
*guilty of disloyalty to the emperor. The condemned man received a jeweled dagger from the emperor. He selected as his second a faithful friend, received official witnesses, and plunged the dagger into the left side of his abdomen, drew it across to the right, and made a slight cut upward; his second then beheaded him with one stroke of a sword, and the dagger was returned to the emperor. Around 1700, it became permissible to go through a semblance of disembowelment prior to beheading. Voluntary hara-kiri was resorted to after a private misfortune, out of loyalty to a dead master, or to protest the conduct of a living superior.

Once again you have no clue what goes on. If you quit you don't get a severance. If you get fired you don't get a severance. At will employee, you get nothing.

Quit - means you found another job. Best option.

Sunovion doesn't fire people they pay people to go away because of the liability. Anyone of title that means anything gets paid. If you think any of these people were fired for cause your naive. Every exec let go has been given 12-12+ months severance on the way out.

Hate to pop your bubble but the future of this company died long before RR joined in 2011, the future was destroyed in 2009 when the Japs showed up with Latuda and layoffs in their back pocket and MURDERED the future

It had nothing to do with the "japs" you biggoted fuck. Adrian and Mark cooked the books which gave DSP no other choice than to cut summit. If you want to blame anyone point the finger at the 41 year old ceo with a huge head.

Sunovion was doomed whether DSP bought them or not. Previous CEO and his crew were trying to buy the company, cut it up in little pieces, and get rid of sales force. As bad as it has been with DSP and previous leaders @the helm, we were done when Tim left the board.

No duh Captain Obvious, it's just that RR didn't need to lie and play us for fools. And on another point, I do blame DSP since they didn't spend the money to try and replenish the pipeline, they're just riding it out and letting attrition take care of home office cuts, only ones left can't find jobs elsewhere

At least we are not the Aptiom sales team. Rumor is massive cuts to them right after first of year. About a 42 person sales force only calling on epileptology centers. That will probably mean a 65% cut in RBM's and all associated positions.
