I know for a fact that sales are not getting any retention bonuses. Let's close the loop on this one right away.

How ironic this would be. NVD made a $B in sales for a flew vaccine that wasn't needed and now they could make more from this Faux Knews led farce.

At least for flu there is a rational reason that we could have needed it. For Ebola ? Only the stupid fucking public could scare the politicians into wasting money like this.

To the idiot in the in the post directly above. I'm not sure if you have been following the news in west Africa but if you have you would notice that Ebola is a huge problem not just for west Africa but for the entire world and the trickle-down effect into Europe and America is inevitable. These Poor countries have very limited resources and do not have the infrastructure to handle this pandemic. Not only do we need to be ready here in the United States but we also need to assist the rest of the world as human beings it's the only ethical thing to do people are dying everyday over there and the problem is actually getting much worse.

To have a plant such as Holly Springs being capable of producing a somewhat semi successful vaccine to protect these people as well as our own would be very beneficial. These people need some kind of hope and currently there's absolutely nothing.

30 times more people there die from the shits than from Ebola and we could save most all of them with much less costs. And the threat of an Epidemic in the US is a fiction. Dumb fuck.

Agreed, but you have to understand that the poster knows of the issues in West Africa, but doesn't care or they see the importance of keeping the "almighty shareholder" happy so spending money on tropical diseases isn't in the plan. Hopefully, GSK will be able to help without irritating their shareholders any further. The evolution of the globalization of medicine could make progress if the wealthy countries could see the benefits of developing vaccines to help the poor.

Typical Novartis Vaccines thinking that got us to where we are today. You think that someone that is buying who makes money is going to "double down" on our "strategy"? Fools.

    Just think Bexzero.

What does this have to do with wealthy countries helping poor countries? Don't be ugly. Novartis vaccines doesn't make money because of its Cerberus mentality.

Absolutely right. Except even way more are dying from poop in their water supply.

500,000-700,000 kids die every year from measles alone, and there is an existing vaccine, and measles could be ERADICATED from earth if the vaccine was used properly. Nobody seems to care about them.

Same for polio. It could be eradicated like smallpox.

Anyone know anything about the Flu business divestment yet? All we keep getting told is that it's going to be a few more weeks yet... And well it been months now... Are we being sold? Dumped on Pharma? Being given away? Is the US gov blocking the sale?

By now, you should know what the rest of us know. We all find out who among us will stay with NVS/Flu and who will transfer to GSK the week of 03 November. There is no immediate buyer that anyone knows of, which is why flu will stay with Novartis for the time being. Most seem to think that being on the list to stay with Flu is where you want to be and that going to GSK is a death sentence (per earlier posts). Don't know exactly how Novartis will handle Flu - whether it rolls up under Pharma or remains separate short term. What I'm curious to know is... Once the lists are revealed the week of 03 November, will NVx continue to operate as it currently does until Day 1 GSK? Or will the carve up/out begin beforehand?

Whats interesting to me is what is happening to all preclinical studies under development currently, after the anouncement, will they continue, or are they withdrawn?

Flu Co structure announced this afternoon. Totally looks like they are moving around the people they want to save into the organization. Interesting to see what functions will fall under development and the other functions. Also interesting there is no GMO but back to regions North America/LATAM and region international.
