Looking for feedback about Hologic's culture and the Territory Manager position. Also curious how Novasure Advanced compares against Minerva and some of the growing competitors. Thanks in advance.

Slowly turn around. Then run as fast as you possibly can to another sales organization. TRUST ME.

Sounds like you had a bad experience. What happened?

The surgical division is an absolute nightmare. I've never seen moral this bad at any sales organization. Ever. Quotas changing every quarter for three straight quarters, overinflated to start with and expectations of 30% growth on a 15 year old product. Failure of the company to understand the IUD market as a major competitor to GEA, daily calls for certain reps from management, stocking shelves, micro management, what a wonderful culture. There are reps quitting without having another job. That should tell you all you need to know about considering a job at Hologic.

I appreciate the elaboration. Is 170K even realistic?

There are a lot of reps who are on pace to make $70k. $170k is possible but unlikely.

No problem. No sour grapes from me I'm just being honest. There's been better times to be at this company. Now certainly isn't the best time.

Any word on the opening in Pittsburgh or what happened to the last TM?

This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time, thanks for the laugh!!

This division has hit rock bottom, they don't understand our business at all. I can't say minerva is bad, it hasn't been out long enough but what I can say is while they are getting business like crazy in some areas, arrogant Hologic is raising the price for......is it the third time in a couple years?? They are clueless. If you are thinking of coming here, our comp plan only pays if you are 90% or higher. I think right now roughly 20% of the entire salesforce is over 90%. Now if you'll excuse me, I have shelves to stock so I can kill my business for the next 2 quarters.

Oh man, sounds like the drapes might not be any bluer on the other side! I can relate so your line about stocking shelves to get by now and killing future quarters made me laugh.

If most people aren't hitting 90%, could you tell me what range in comp would be realistic for a TM? $170 caught my attention but sure sounds like that's not very common. Thanks for the posts!

Growing company, great leadership, committed to and executing on double digit growth, oh and its a 15 year old product... sounds like a pretty phenomenal results. New president is committed to doubling our business in the next couple years. Is it perfect? no... but if you want to work for a company committed to double digit growth, new products which ARE coming soon, hiring and expanding the sales force. I've been here about 4 years and love my job. its not always easy and I am having a tough quarter, but name me a device company that doesn't in Jan-March... oh, and I made over 38K in commission this past quarter. We have a great VP of sales that always takes care of us. People that leave always have a story of why they got screwed... cry me a river don't let the door hit you in the ***.

They certainly are committed to double digit growth, the problem is their strategy is price increase after price increase and we are back to stocking shelves. Meanwhile, the desperate competition is lowering their price and commoditizing the market. I've been here a little over 5 years and I am seeing a HUGE change in this business. Minerva is new and gaining traction and there are 2 new ablation modalities on the horizon. Deductibles are insane and patients cannot afford the ablation which is why Mirena is and always has been destroying our business. Again, the strategy of increasing price does not address those problems. Which is why I question your comment about "great leadership". The marketing department is full of smart people but they do not understand our business. None of them have ever sold a product, especially ours, and how often are they seeking feedback from the field? Hologic has amazing products full of awesome clinical data and the majority of people in the company are good people, but the business moving forward is and always will struggle unless management pulls their head out of their butts. I am certainly not ready to give up but I hope something changes and fast because loading shelves and increasing prices constantly is not the answer.

True to everything you wrote but they will continue to ask us to stock shelves as long as our numbers are down. They simply don't care.

Reading these threads crack me up. I've worked here for a long time. every company does price increases so the moron above is living in Lala land, every company pushes at the end of the quarter, its as good for me as much as it is for the company. Competition is getting tougher but the "new" competition barely has a 5% market share after being at it over a year lol. Sounds like that guy/girl above needs to go sell pharma. Stock up, and just bought a cool new company that I hope to be able to sell in the future.

Actually the one living in lala land is you. I've never worked for a company who gives away free capital in order to get 5 and 6 box orders at the end of the quarter. Being encouraged to screw yourself for the future so they can make their quarterly numbers is absolutely asinine. Pushing is one thing, but greed is another. It's ok you'll go through those devices in no time just convince the doc to get their patients to change from low cost IUD in the office to surgical intervention with Novasure, no problem!

Amen brother/sister. I was the one supposedly living in "lalaland", apparently you are too according to that nimrod. The IUD is free btw, and corporate wants us to sell on NovaSure being the "premium product." Gee, ok, I guess I will spend thousands out of pocket for the "premium product" then LOL.

Our products are old and everyone else has new stuff to try and sell. Targets are high, management is greedy, what else is new. You really think management is going to stick around or just make a lot of money and leave? How come we still don't have anything new like they keep promising?

If you like waking up everyday and lying to people this is your job.

I don't like waking up and lying to people every day, which is why I'll be gone soon. This is the most inept sales management team I've ever seen in my career. Greed is without a doubt the word that comes to mind when thinking about Hologic. Hey how do you like this blue handle on the new Novasure device? Oh good, it's only 8% more expensive. How often do you ever hear doctors complain about dilating to 8? Never? Yeah me neither. I'm so excited about seeing Hologic in the rear view mirror.
