It's way past due to address this systemic problem that everyone ignores at Quest.

There are many problems here, but that is not one of them. Just as many over paid women doing nothing that adds value as there are men in corporate.

Typical response, laugh it off, but it is no joke. Time to speak out. And it's not just women that are discriminated against here. People are afraid to speak out, but I will no longer be silenced. Class action time. Enough is enough.

What exactly is it that is keeping you from higher pay/position...perhaps it is your performance. Sounds like you should join a union somewhere.

By all means, let me know how that works out for you. Please speak out and don't be silenced. After all, we are a nation of victims. By god, enough is enough. Please let me know how your class action grievance goes. I need a good laugh because life is a bitch. No pun intended.

Plenty of bad managers and poor leaders, but don't think the discrimination is behind it...stupidity and ego mainly.

This is absolutely true. A friend in HR showed me the entire salary database. Not only do new employees make more than those who have been here a long time and promoted throughout their career with Quest, but many of the top females in mgmt make at least 25% less than their male counterparts. How can someone new, and has never proven their value within Quest make more than another (male or female) who has worked their way up the ladder to get where they should be? My guess is that Quest, SR and the other c-suite team have such a bad reputation that they need to overpay people just to work here.

I'm not lying here---it does exist---and it will take a class action lawsuit to shake it up. Quest should know better too---they've been sued for this in the past as well!

Doubt this is true.....I didn't think anyone was left in HR.

If true, your friend in HR is a disgrace and isn't it HR that sets salary ranges, makes offers, etc., so your friend in HR is not only a disgrace but part of the problem.

The company has successfully fought both an age-based and gender-based discrimination suit in the last several years, specifically pertaining to the commercial team. I think the SMT likes their chances.

Believe there have been multiple age cases.....in most companies long tenure is appreciated, here it is a career risk.

You accepted an offer, no one made you. We all decide what we are worth and are all free agents.

Sure Skippy, looks like you know how HR works. Try looking at the org chart and how many layers are under the VP of HR. He isn't on the comp team (which determines salaries), but he does get to determine if asshats like you should be retained or not.

In the end, the marketplace determines compensation...if Bio and LabCorp started to pay phlebs $25 an hour, we would be right there with them.

Our Day Without Women obviously had no affect. Same lousy job working for far less than jackasses that didn't earn it.

You are 100% correct. Your day had zero effect. The real world doesn't care about your day. Time to start being a grownup. Yes, it sucks. You whined and nobody cares. Did you wear the vagina hat?
