What is it like to work here?

To clarify... the Area Manager does not delegate the incentive percentages. The most that a Ctr Mgr can receive out of a center's incentive, is up to 50%. The remainder 50% is delegated to the CSRs, Techs, and HCS. No CM keeps most or all of the incentive. Regardless if the CM wanted to, the Area Mgr and the Region manager approves how the incentive is split... and there is no way they would allow for such to happen. I have been an Area Mgr for 10 years, worked my way up from service rep. If the service sucks, or business sucks, then the Sales rep or manager are first to get term'd.. They have higher risks, thus they should have higher reward. for any Tech, CSR, etc who complains about pay, or incentives... then switch companies, or work to get promoted to a mgr position. I read these boards occasionally, for fun... just to see if people speak accurately or just blow a lot of hot air. I will say there is some of both... the funny thing is, there will always be someone who will attack those who say positive things... about Lincare. I laugh at them because they are probably the ones who were fired, not promoted, and have an Axe to grind.. In their eyes, its always someone else's fault. I don't always agree with Lincare policy but it is what it is. But I can assure you... if the center's are not getting a bonus, then the Area Mgr is not either... Neither is the Region Mgr.. At least a tech, CSR, HCS, etc... you get the hourly wage u were hired and agreed to receive.. So your not losing money.. Area Mgrs, for example, 55% of their income is suppose to come from incentives... but when the centers and Area's do not qualify for an incentive... then half of the Area Mgr salary is gone... I hope those who are unhappy, find happiness... I wish u all the best... including those who like and hate Lincare... ITS JUST A JOB.

It is my opinion that Lincare is one big medicare scam. The employees are mistreated and disposable while the execs stay on thru the years. It is a revolving door by design. employees get fired while the execs continually sell their stocks for millions. When you make complaints to EEOC etc be very specific about what was going on with the medicare money. Like you didn't meet the quota for medicate unit dose, or for medicare oxygen set ups etc. Some lucky wistleblower is going to bring lincare all the way down. Be very clear that all the centers are run the same and the instructions for the whole country come from a small handful of execs. The feds are trying--keep giving info about the medicare. don't say my boss treated me bad. say the boss treated me bad because the little old lady said she did not want the medicare unit dose reorder. talk medicare when you file all these complaints. they have hurt a lot of hard working families with their medicare scheme

Lincare is a joke! It likes to boast that it has no debt and wants to be looked upon as a real
medical company. If it has no debt, it is because it keeps all revenues at the top instead of paying their people decent salaries. They treat their people like shit!
Most reputable, big medical companies take care of their people and pay at least competitively. Lincare is no where close to being in the ballpark with other competitive companies for pay. They pay their sales reps. an embarrassing $24K base/yr. Commissions..... for some reason or another..... never come!!
I currently work as a Sales Rep. for Lincare, only because I was desperate for a job. I've been looking for another since I started, hopefully soon I can dump my stuff at the front door of the center. I do not show my current job on my resume as being with Lincare because it is an embarrassment and I don't want any company that might be looking at my resume to know that I was stupid enough to work for such a NOTHING company.

Excellent detail! As a former long time employee, I can say that this post provides info that is extremely accurate. As far as ASM delegating the bonus goes it depends on how much of a control freak the ASM is. I worked under 2 different ASMs: who did it as this above poster said and the other who told me how it was going to be split despite the fact I was a long tenured CM.

How bad do you want to work for an uneducated manager who only has his or her job because he was looked at as a reliable potential lifer or someone who will stick it out til the end?

Be prepared to have your back stabbed to make your manager look better. Sales reps are limited in their success as their manager doesn't want to be the 2nd highest earner in the center.

Depends on the center you get mine wasn't so bad because our cm was gone for 6 months on maternity leave. She was great at getting referrals from docs. Usually it's the rep giving the docs treats in her case it was the docs giving her complimentary cream pies. We nick named her little Debbie.
