  1. If all the reviews were correct, than there would not be an explanation as to why there are so many employees at Pyramid Laboratories that have been there for many-many years and are not looking to leave. This is because they feel supported professionally and personally.
The truth is that you will not hear from people that are happy with their jobs. It is always the ones that are negative and unhappy in their nature that write these types of comments.
It is correct that many employees are of Egyptian origin. However, employees are not selected based on this factor. It is a multi-cultural organization, and every person is given an equal opportunity. in fact, this reviewer is neither Egyptian, nor middle eastern. There are people of multiple nationalities work here, receive the same treatment, and feel that they are part of a big caring family.

Medhat, the CEO, is kind, generous, and fair. He treats his employees well, and everyone feels praised for a well-done job. He gave, gives and continues to give opportunities for success to many people. He can give a constructive feedback, but in the same time always has your back. Yes, he speaks his mind when it is needed, but never in a rude or disrespectful way. The only time an employee is corrected by him, is when a wrong doing is involved.

Cameras... It is a common practice in the organizations that deal with sensitive products manufacture. Unless you are afraid to get caught involved in misconduct, it should not be an issue of concern.

As far as low salaries go, no one is forced to accept the job that they don't believe pays enough. Why to take an offer if it is that upsetting to you?!

It was shocking, to say the least, to read these comments, as if this was said about a totally different place, and a totally different owner!

Ask anyone who works here, and they will join me in saying: Pyramid Laboratories, Inc. is a wonderful company!

I work for Pyramid Labs as a full time employee. I like working here because it’s a professional place where quality, integrity, and performance are emphasized; where my coworkers treat each other friendly, where my boss Medhat Gorgy has empathy for his employees.

Medhat is a nice person. He’s watching over his employees, offering them a helping hand whenever needed. In the past, as a single mother, I was allowed to have a flexible schedule to take care of my son as long as I take care of my work. At present, Remon, my coworker, has a very ill wife. Medhat has some special arrangement with him that allows him to spend time caring for his wife and children and go to work so that he can pay his bills.

Oh, I remember one time I was planning to make a trip to China to see my sister who was suffering from late stage cancer. I used up my money for the air ticket. Then my sister told me she wanted to give it a last try for an expensive surgery. So I had to give up my trip to save the money for her surgery. When Mr. Gorgy heard of that, he encouraged me to go on with my trip and he would help me pay for her surgery. Although I never took the money due to the surgery decline, his great thoughts warm my heart all the time.

Medhat Gorgy is a wise businessman. During 2008 financial crisis, a lot of enterprises were falling apart. He had a very tough time too. In order to make his business survive and in order to make us survive during this harsh winter, he made a decision of keeping us to keep his company running. By doing so, he had to empty all his hard earned savings. He never delayed paying us salary or wages. At the brink of bankruptcy, the crisis was over. Thank God he survived. We survived.

We have not only survived. We have thrived. By 2011, we have been gradually recovering from the loss. By 2013, we have been growing. So Medhat Gorgy arranged a cruise to celebrate our growth and our company’s 25thanniversary. He invited all of us and our family members to join the celebration. He thanked us for our hard work and celebrated with us for his victory. The Costa Mesa city mayor was celebrating with us too.

So I think Medhat Gorgy is a good leader. He leads us through the storm to safety. He is a successful businessman. Right now our company is thriving. We have over 60 employees. We get a lot of clients with big projects. I like my company. I look forward to more success and more prosperity of my company. Best wishes to my boss Medhat Gorgy.

    unprofessional place to work.
It is run by intimidation and fear. Unprofessional , Gossip, no middle management. Most employees are entry level with very few options some husband and wife so they have to put up with unprofessional environment , low pay and intimidation

I have been working at Pyramid Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

If you're a QA, Chemist or Project Manager you're among the kings of the hill.
We have an amazing environment, Great Senior Management support. Engagement in exciting projects. Great group dynamic.
The management is always on your back, supporting you and gives training.
The CEO has a wonderful hospitality, gentleman, fair, honest and kind .
The CEO loves his employees and giving us the best… Show More
They have a great benefits , medical, 401K ....etc.
The CEO and management are amazing and professionals at work and dealing with employees.

Most of the negative posts on Pyramid or the CEO are not true, they may get fired due to problems they made or left the company due to the unacceptable mistake during work.

Pyramid Laboratories, Inc., or PLI for short, offers an environment that rewards honesty, fair dealing; where people get praised for great results and are treated well. This is the place where you feel supported professionally and personally. People with many walks of lives work here and feel that they are part of a big caring family. The CEO is the most sincere, fair and kind man, who is capable of a constructive feedback, but at the same time always has your back. If you are looking for a stability, great culture, family-like environment, this is a place for you.
This is a great place to work and grow professionally, and at the same time enjoy that work-life balance that most of the working people seem to struggle to find.
Bad reviews of the company are surprising and leave room for guessing the source.

I was employed at Pyramid Labs in 90's and the treatment of the employees was horrendous. Worst I've ever experienced. My computer and phone calls were monitored. CEO was misogynist and had no self control. I quit after he went on a yelling rant. He called me at home after I quit to tell me I was fired and threatened to withhold my last paycheck. This man should be in a mental institute.

i worked at Pyramid Labs recently. Most of what you read here and on Glassdoor is true.

Cameras everywhere even in office spaces, lunchrooms, etc. All conversations are monitored. This is NOT normal and far exceeds the normal monitoring that occurs at many companies for security reasons.

The owner has ultimate say on everything down to the smallest minutiae.

There are staff members who serve as "moles" for the CEO reporting every bit of gossip, supposed mislead, etc. This makes it nearly impossible to function.

The level of GMP compliance can range from quite good to blatant violations. Don't try to correct the violations as you will be singled out for retribution.

Definitely not a pleasant place to work for most people. The staff overall is great it's the CEO and his minions that make things miserable.

  9. Our company had used Pyramid as a CMO. We stopped using them when we felt that some data had been falsified.

We noticed that the CEO, Mr. Gorgy, micromanaged our projects and appeared to influence and possibly override employee decisions through intimidation, which may have lead to possible falsification.

Employee descriptions of Mr. Gorgy's large ego and brash attitude seem accurate. We always were amused that he had a large oil painting of himself in the main conference room. He would also argue minutiae with us and constantly remind us of his high levels of knowledge in any topic. Employees who are specialists in their fields seemed afraid to correct him.

We learned of a 13-item 483 that Pyramid received (https://www.fda.gov/AboutFDA/CentersOffices/OfficeofGlobalRegulatoryOperationsandPolicy/ORA/ORAElectronicReadingRoom/ucm438175.htm), and were surprised there were no observations of data falsification or manipulation.

Whenever we were at the facility we rarely saw activity occurring in the labs or in the manufacturing areas. We felt that we were one of their few clients. Therefore, I'm not going to provide any details of the specific problems with our projects, as others have indicated that Mr. Gorgy is vengeful and likes to sue.

Their project pricing is competitive, but the risks are not worth it.

Wish I found this sooner. All of these post are spot on and nothing as changed one bit. CEO in his mind lives in another world. Expects the women to love him, expects his jokes to always be funny, expects everyone to see him as a god. When in reality everyone is in fear of losing their jobs. CEO has been known to sue and be fixed on vengeance. Most likely after he catches wind of this he'll look into who posted this, Apologies to current employees. Any FDA or auditor that suspects him or doesn't get along with will be made fun of at company meetings. At face he will say how much an employee has given back to the company, but after that same employee leaves will bad mouth them and say how much they put the company at risk. Glad I'm not a christian if this is what Christianity is like.
Beware of moles within the company. If the "director of QA" doesn't like you she'll make sure to have others listen and find ways to write you up and get fired. Then we all have the feeling of watching over our shoulder and not forming friendships with peers out of fear. Doesn't matter if you followed gap, if they personally don't like you they will find a way to fire you or make you quit. Nothing is professional, all personal.

Stay here for 6 months and you will be confused as to who his wife is, the Director of Chem or his ex secretary.
Boss, please stop hugging the women. We do not enjoy it.
Loved the company and Christmas speeches. Bring people down while lifting himself up.
