So I was trying to remember. When was it that Amgen actually "jumped the shark". We were on the cover of Businessweek in 2005 as the most respected company - to what we are now.

    When was the "jump"?

Paying the three quarters of a billion dollar fine in 2012 for overpromotion of Aranesp! At least that led to KS leaving the company.

Yeah, that's what I thought. No one from S&M would have any answer to the allegation that it was their doing. LOL. It makes sense to blame GM.

Wow. Great question. I gotta say when KS left. Since then there has been a giant sucking sound of "Old Amgen" talent leaving. Amgen is what it is. A sad shell of itself with only average talent. Big Pharma with an old moth filled bio tech coat wrapped around it. I hate to say it but Amgen's name is far less credible than it used to be.

KS leaving was the downturn of Amgen

KS had some concern and care for Amgen employees but the true downturn was the loss of Gordon Binder.

The company lost a true leader who care about all employees regardless of role or title.
