    Anyone have any experience or feedback with this technology supposedly coming to us for Triathlon?

    Sounds like a promising technology. With the way healthcare is going (i.e. electronic medical records) this is right up that alley.

    Already there are implants with monitoring capability after implantation. These are already being marketed for assessing tumors, cardiac rhythm monitoring, glucose level assessment, as well as others not on the tip of my tongue. It only makes sense that eventually this will be the direction medicine goes & probably sooner than later.

    On the other hand, OrthoSensor currently only has approval for an "intelligent insert trial" that helps with detection of poor soft tissue balance and malalignment. This is still a positive design & beneficial to the surgical application, but I believe there eventual goal is to gain approval for their to have similar sensors included in the actual implanted hardware. This will assist with detection throughout the life cycle of the implant & will have the capability to report the same soft tissue balance & malalignment, but more impressively include the monitoring of such issues as "relative loading and position, material wear, osteolysis, motion, heat, synovial viscosity, and implant interface changes" (per website).

    Good luck buying this technology, as I see many competitors wanting this technology included in their implants as well.
