Dipshit, that is not representing implanted Attune knees. It is over 5K knees with 7 year follow up..Attune has not been out 7 years (wont make it that long). We all know that increase BMI equates to increased revision rate. There has been far more than 195 attunes revised, you are looking at a sampling only. But I will give your sorry ass credit for trying to protect your shit product.

I have been in on 5 tibial revisions and in every single case when the Dr. Asked the Depuy rep if he wanted to take the implants the rep said no. We all know the amount reported is not the actual amount. I have yet to be in a revision with a Depuy rep where he has requested the implant to file a report

I've never seen any rep take implants from revisions except when the surgeon requested. You don't need the implants to file the report. It's possibly to get lot and part numbers other ways. Not sure how long you've been doing this but that's not that uncommon. We have hospitals that's won't let you take implants.

There were 23 reported by Depuy on the MAUDE database in August, but you're right. Move along, nothing to see here

I have pic of 2 year post op attune tibial baseplate that looks like it was just taken out of package and lightly pasted with fresh Blood. Occurred in Dallas. I'll send if you want it. Think about all those family members out there getting pos implant in them bc docs listen to their rep instead of looking at the facts. Shame.

  6. This is not a charade. One of my surgeons revised 2 of them in the last 2 weeks. Implanted probably 5 months ago. Femur was well fixed, tibia came right out....BUT because there isn't an option, we had to rip out the well fixed femur and start over.

I am a competitive rep. I have only seen 1 of these revised although our marketplace is still predominantly PFC when it comes to DePuy usage. However I have heard from multiple fellow reps and other competitive reps that this seems to be a problem. I have had several surgeons tell me that they have friends in other geographies revising an extraordinary number of these components. At a recent company meeting at least 50% of a room of 100 fellow sales reps from around the country have been in an extraordinary number of early loosening of the Attune components.
Hardly scientific and hardly evidence that this is an overwhelming number, but I have not heard this much buzz from the field since ASR.

It's pretty easy to go on a message board and anonymously claim to see an extraordinary number of Attune revisions. If you're telling the truth, put your name to it. Oh wait, I forgot...that's not the CP way.

When can we get a tray with a stem for those BMI patients? $100 million launch but let's wait 7 f'king years till we can get a tibial stem. Poor patients.

As I said I haven't seen a bunch of these yet. I have had 2 high volume surgeons who are well connected to other major revision centers around the country tell me that they are hearing of an extraordinarily high number of revisions of this product. Blame technique. Blame cement. I have been hearing this for approximately 1 year from a number of fellow sales reps throughout the country. There is enough of an issue that other Depuy reps I've talked to are worried about actively promoting this product. If you think this is just a scare tactic that's fine. Please disregard. Good selling.

We're going on 3 years of Attune with no changes, enhancements, or options...so how hard are guys going to actively promote Attune? New metal femoral trials and single piece insert trials...those are not going to convert a surgeon.

But this product is a game changer!!! Surgeons are going to be calling reps about this system!! Totally going to take over the market!!

    Remember those claims pre launch????

Like all things DePuy they half assed it. Great knee design that they have hindered with poor instruments and not giving us all the things we need. Just like reclaim. They spend more time focusing on marketing names for instruments and not getting what we need. There is no excuse for us not having revision components at this point. They have done a terrible job of addressing the buzz competitive reps are trying to gin up about the tibia. They should just fire all of knee marketing and hire some of the Biomet Zimmer folks.

What is wrong with the instruments?

The balanced sizer is a huge hit

The instruments are OK but with as much time and money as the spent on them I expected more. They have addressed some of these with 1 piece insert trials, tibial tray trials with pin holes, and you can use a sigma tibial jig. The balanced sizer is a POS. They also apparently didn't consider surgeons who use navigation when designing it. If they listened to reps in the field they could have addressed these instead of relying on some art institute, clueless marketing, and engineers who have never been in cases. Every surgeon who has tried persona and attune says persona instruments are better design. Just like every surgeon who tries reclaim and Archos prefers archos.

Really didn't think this was an issue until one of my surgeon friends switched from a competitor to Attune and immediately had tray loosening issues! This is a problem for sure.

I'm a competitive rep who just got off my noncompete and my doc is already having issues. He just started using it! This sucks and has already put my relationship in jeopardy and my reputation is now on the line.

The tray is an issue! My surgeons, who are good friends of mine, are asking me to find a new company to work for because they don't trust the product or the company. Most of my guys feel like the company acted unethically with the ASR fiasco and this will be no different
