Hello. I've used the search function at the top and read dozens of threads. Seems there isn't much recent information on this type of position. I'm going to try not to bother with questions that have been answered many times before. Just had a few that I'd like more insight into.

Me: 34 years old, former Army Sergeant, M.S. in Instructional Design and 2 courses from MBA from low-mid tier school. Work in education and tired of it.

    1. Apparently 34 seems pretty old for this field. I'm targeting ASR as it seems to be a good foot in the door, and there is a job opportunity in my area. Is my age going to be a hindrance? I've read what seems to be some stereotypes of employees here, I'm 6' and in shape.

    2. Salary info is scattered between all the older threads. I know the industry is changing. Seems to be 55-60k on glassdoor. For those with recent info does this seem correct or missing anything? That is similar to my current salary in education. I currently work from home which has added benefit but no upward mobility and I'm bored out of my mind. Don't mind making the same salary for much more work with higher ceiling later on.

I'm not looking for fast money, but certainly want the opportunity to be there if I put in the hard work and I'm willing to do so. Any input is appreciated. Alright everyone feel free to slam away!

Are you hung like a Stryker rep? The new breed of firebrand reps dictate this as a job requirement.

Military service is certainly a positive as is your height and physical conditioning. Our most successful reps know this job is a full time commitment, selling during the day, taking Docs out to dinner at night but most important getting them laid. You have to be ready for any situation even if it involves compromising your heterosexual instincts. In order to make the big dollars Stryker reps know what it takes and sometimes it isn't pretty. Can you make that commitment, will you make that commitment?

I'll take the two previous posts as a kind way of saying do more research on your own. Either that or you're trying to tell me it takes a good sense of humor to work there.

Still interested in any real information anyone can provide.
