With some creative accounting EMFs and PDGs always go well, right? Doctors will sometimes listen but they really want CME programs because the information is not restricted to the label and they feel the accreditation process removes most of the bias.
EMFs are called "education" but how much educational value do they really offer versus CMEs that have no limitations imposed by lawyers? The real benefit they offer is getting a stable of doctors closer to Merck and getting the speaking fees into their hands. Its not about "disease awareness" or label restricted babble, it about getting the speakers engaged with the company and paid by Merck.
