Situation should get better. Patrick C. has finally left the building. Give it time.

the sad side of the story is we don't have back orders because of excessive demand. But due to mindless analysis done by S&OP clearly a function we were happy to do without :(

You're a real fool if you think there is any correlation between him leaving and our global supply situation. Nice try though.

When we hear terms like "control the controllables", it makes it very clear that someone (or no one) understands the demand, time, and implication of just one backorder. The truth is, we have dozens of backorders in individual territories daily. Yet it is insistent we stay focused on 2.5 & Ast Mgmt while trying to keep accounts from cancelling surgery or use a competitor

What a joke we have become in the industry.
Everyone knows our innovation sucks...last 3-4 years for sure.
On top of it our S&OP creates back orders in almost every product I guess it is their way of job retention ?
Finally if we have any product available then either it gets into QA hold or recall

We have come to such a sorry state of affairs that most smart guys already jumped the ship but the few left over actually are stuck.
Nobody wants to hire Alcon guys anymore and the worst part is most of Alcon resumes are out there right now.

I thought back orders would improve now that Patrick C was pushed out!!! IOLs are a disaster!!!

HR monitor: anyone with company information pertaining to layoffs and/or restructuring have signed confidentiality agreements and should desist posting or face consequence.

It is a combo of of the quality(or lack of) the order systems and support group and management that is cuasing this situation.

This. Peppermint Patty C. was just a suckup who couldn't find the right ass to kiss once Dave M. went off to TCU after he got busted selling lasers to Iran.

People would always comment that they would never see him in his office working.

Backorders will always be an issue because of lack of leadership in the supply chain department. All S&OP does is continue to rotate the same monkeys around to different positions expecting different results.

Backorders every day. How are we expected to make our target when I have to spend all my time explaining to customers why they can't get their product? Up-selling ultrasert isn't the long term answer either.

By far the most apt comment I have read on the Alcon board so far
