My doctor prescribed this for me and I went to pharmacy and he said that it would cost me $ 1,500. I asked him if he was kidding and he said he said he wasn't. The pharmacist said that valant is a scam company and I see why he says this. I told my neighbor about this as he works for another company and he mentioned this message board. How do you people sleep at night charging so much for this drug? I mean this isn't a freaking cancer drug. I don't know who else to complain about this to that will do any good.
Mainly because I have no control over the marketing or pricing of these products. I am not compensated by the level of profit, sales volume, or market share. I am one of thousands of employees who do everything else besides set pricing. Why are you coming to CP to complain about pricing. Is this the best place you can come up with? Do you think that anyone else here can do anything about pricing? If you want to come here to vent, fine. You won't find many people defending Pearson and Valeant.
The cost for Wellbutrin tablet 75 mg is around $265 for a supply of 100 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Prices are for cash paying customers only and are not valid with insurance plans. A generic version of Wellbutrin is available, see bupropion prices. Wellbutrin Prices, Coupons & Patient Assistance Programs - Drugs.com https://www.drugs.com/price-guide/wellbutrin
There are tons of patient assistance programs out there for a lot of medications, so unfortunately your pharmacist nor your pharmacy helped you find the best price. My insurance doesn't cover branded Wellbutrin and I get it for a $0 copay monthly using Valeant's coupon program which you can find online. Do a google search and you can find their coupon. Love how patients like this bash a company before doing a simple google search for the patient assistance programs that the company offers. If you are going to bitch about the brand then take the generic. It is readily available, it is cheap and has been around for years. If you need the brand, then you should talk to your doctor about helping you to get your insurance company to pick up some of the cost, because it sounds like the brand is medically necessary for you. Most insurance companies don't just have a hard no on drugs. Even if it is not on your drug plan, your doctor can usually can fill out paperwork to try to help you get the drug they want you to have. It looks like they changed the copay to $5 on their assistance program since I've refilled. http://www.wellbutrinxl.com/savings. That still sounds better than the $1500 you were quoted to me. I suggest either getting a new pharmacy or at least doing some simple internet searches on your own drug costs before being misled by your pharmacy. Even just pulling up the GoodRx App on an iPhone, or their website, can at least help you come in with some insight on what the drugs should cost before the pharmacist quotes you prices. The GoodRX app shows coupons for generics and often has the manufacturer coupon for some of the branded drugs too. Hope that Wellbutrin coupon works for you. If it does maybe you can come back here and change your post about Valeant because that would mean they just absorbed the cost your Wellbutrin, and every other uncovered patient that utilizes their coupon.
http://www.goodrx.com/wellbutrin-xl?drug-name=wellbutrin+xl&form=tablet&dosage=300mg&quantity=30&days_supply=&label_override=Wellbutrin%20XL This price is about the same as what my pharmacy said.
Get the generic, FDA made them all resubmit bioequivalence data about 3 years ago so the only ones on the market are now they are all about the same as the branded drug.
We need the Money to keep flying the 4 corporate jets and to pay Papa and the great and mighty Mike Pearson that made Valeant into the sewer of the Pharma Industry.
Call direct success... the other Philidor still millin those Wellbutrin scripts http://www.businessinsider.com/valeant-relationship-with-direct-success-cited-in-sales-of-wellbutrin-2016-1
