Emma rocks. I would rather have a top leader than some dull science person that has no leadership skills or possibly a psychotic leader (there have been more than a few disasters)

The pipeline needs to be rebuilt, the next CEO needs to have delivered a significant medicine to market.

Yes but I don't want our CEO also serving as CSO or head of Clinical Development. Her first order of business is to clean out the senior folks and bring in new blood and not just promote the lackeys that are under the current bunch of inept leaders.

The next CEO will have to clean out the clown car of folks serving on the CET (Dingo, lil Dan, etal) but needs to know the difference between a legitimate pharmaceutical product and a magical Sirtuin that only works on winos.

Executives, mid-level management and Field Management should have their corporate history investigated. Meaning, if you come from a SK background, you should be either demoted or asked to leave the organization. They are a cancer that needs to be cut out. They have a long history of unethical behavior.

Agreed, absolute backstabbing, unethical, lazy group of employees. The fuhgetaboutit culture where their work is passed onto others in the UK and RTP. The biggest mistake at the merger was to base the company in Philly because the philly folks convinced then there was more "talent" in philly. GSK is paying for it now with fines and zero pipeline. Great job SKB legacy losers.

Couldn't agree more. This is the criteria used to select Twitty and his team and it worked like a charm!

GW would have dried up and died had it not been for our rescue.

Don't be a twit. You can't hire a cosmetic industry exec with experience selling toothpaste to run a research-based, global Rx company.

There are many fine & good folks from the heritage GW and SKB companies; but of course, not all were. It is hypocritical to claim one side was saintly while the other simply diabolical. To provide some "fair balance", let's remind ourselves of some GW highlights:

GW's tax evasion for Zantac and other drugs:
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/11/AR2006091100429.html

GW's shameful behavior w/r HIV drug pricing in Africa:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2001/02/07/world/indian-company-offers-to-supply-aids-drugs-at-low-cost-in-africa.html

Remember, Bob? He unleashed M.Pearson at Valeant. Would he too have brought infamy to GSK?

There was baggage (with dirty laundry inside) at both GW and SKB. The merger was financial engineering, to prop-up two UK companies facing PPI patent cliffs. Don't take it all so personal :) It's just business... fuhgeddaboudit.

Emma W is an incredible leader. GSK would be smart to promote her.
Andrew has been a great disappointment. Changing strategies every management call, a series of horrible acquisitions that are now buried. Good bye!

Only the return of Dierdre can ensure our inevitable future.

To Post #110: Yes, every organization has had its issues. However, SKB was over the top with their win at all costs mentality. The stories (and there true) are unbelievable! At the field level with managers involved. Without question, the most unethical corporate culture in the industry! As far as where GW would be..how many SK products do we currently market? Enough said!

Bob Ingram, now there was a well dressed empty suit if there ever was one. He was Trump before there was Trump.

Uh..no! Total class! 100% behind the sales force! He made one mistake and it was huge! He agreed and helped facilitate the merger with SK. I know this because I know both him and his son. We have had conversations on this exact issue. Think I'm kidding? Test me. I speak the truth..and yes..I am the Zigler! I know more than you think. I have the crystal ball and I call BS on those who try to spread unnecessary negativity! Think I am BS-ing you? Test me. Zigler out!

Is GSK still footing the bill for the condo in NC so Twitty can shack up there when he visits Junior?
