Nothings changed to post #20..majority still getting paid the same..interesting CM thinks the force ranking system is working...little does she know reps that received 1s and 2s brought in little business compared to their peers that received 3s..congratulations GSK you re-enforced you don't have to do much to get a 1 or 2. Why would any rep want to go the extra mile and only get a 3? Smart thing to do is emulate what the 1s and 2s do. Better consider changing compensation plan unless satisfied with mediocre performance.Hope inventiv has better motivation.

Got that right, I am tops in our region and I go a three. Really freaking motivates me! Meantime the ass kissers Who are not doing nearly as well got the ones and twos. Any wonder that our stock is in the toilet. Do you really think that I am going to go all out for the new year with a reward system like this? Sincerely, screwed again!

Let's be honest, the rep means nothing because half of all doctors won't see any of you anyway. Formulary matters over everything. A non selling new college grad could easily replace you and inventiv for 1/3 of the price with no drop in sales. The pharma sales model is broken.

Post #23. Your point is well taken but not entirely correct. Reps are necessary to drive decision making at the ground level. They will always be necessary. Just not as many as we have now. We could still cut the sales force by 20%

You must suck at selling. Great sales people will never make excuse like you. They will find a way to get it done. You have to be very aggressive, almost a jerk in some cases, and be very creative if you want to move market share. I started over 20 years ago, though, and the game has changed. Reps today are soft. Doctors are sensitive also. Still, the rep matters. And, managed care matter also. But, almost every territory has some good managed care wins, so that excuse is fucking pathetic.

My GLP-1 competitors are laughing and thanking GSK for the brilliant decision of handing off Tanzeum to Inventiv. They are sample droppers, that's it. They have NO incentive to sell, just get signatures until the next contract comes along. I've worked so hard to build my territory in one of the top territories in the country. I take pride in my work, know how to sell, use my relationships to get into no see offices, and now I'm handing over my hard earned business to my competition.

I actually feel terrible for the specialty reps. They really are on their own.

But then again, new Bydureon pen is coming out soon AND Sanofi's new lantus/GLP-one combo is launching in Dec. Then there is Trulicity's add on to basal data which is coming out at the end of the year which is phenomenal (my endocrinologists are involved in the clinical trial and are very excited), plus Novo's once weekly GLP in 2017 and Novo's oral GLP-1 is going to eliminate the need for any injectable GLP-1 so perhaps it is a wise decision to focus on respiratory.

Inventiv reps have the exact same incentive structure albeit a different payout than GSK reps. The incentive structure is broken. IF R and F gets you 1s and 2s , then that is what the company gets.

There are very few who have dreamed of being a pharmaceutical reps. Is still a good or ok job depending on where you sit, but people go to work in this profession to make money. They will find a way to get paid.

Show me a candidate who wants this job to "save the world" probably one patient at a time, then they need to a reality check and need to pursue a new profession.

And that is all I have to say about that....

It boggles my mind that A Dubya doesn't understand that this communism-like bonus plan took the wind out of many (not all) reps' sales.

15 years ago we fought Lilly, Pfizer, Merck, Novartis tooth and nail, and often won. Now, we're like one of those washed up old Hollywood types with a drug of drinking problem….a mere hideous shell of what we once were.

A bag full of expensive me-too drugs, overbearing TSMs, pods tripping over ourselves to see the few docs that will let us in, and a demotivated field force will DO that, ya know!

Where are you getting this from? You are telling me that you actually believe that the doc chooses, say, a GLP-1 based on what THE REP says in 20 second sound bites?

    Holy crap.

Glp1 selling typically happens during a lengthier lunch inservice and the shorter visits are typically follow ups, reminders, trouble shooting with staff etc....

Cant contract reps can't schedule lunch and learns? The ones in my area are older than we are.

NO WAY!! Not even CEO Witty is dumb enough to pull Tanzeum away from the most feared and respected field force in the industry.

So picking up on this, I just heard a rumble of Inventiv taking over Tanzeum entirely as of the third semester. I thought this was supposed to happen last month... anyone else heard chatter?

Any legacy GSK reps left on Tanzeum, or has Inventiv taken over entirely>

The Tanzeum TURD finally gets flushed! It's about time! The joke of a drug was never a competitor in the GLP1 space with its pathetic A1c reduction and ZERO weight loss...why not add a DPP4? You had to know once you stop GIVING IT AWAY FOR FREE your jobs were done. You couldn't possibly pack more of that shit in the office refrigerators and since you were hired in on a 2 year contract it time to flush the toilet! Toodaloo!
