How long have you been doing this. Sigma trays werent always CoCr. Matter of fact they were predominately Ti. DePuy always had CoCr trays in AMK and LCS

Updates? There are rumors of a letter that was sent around addressing this issue long ago. Is this gonna be another blame game like ASR? So far this is following the same path. Managers will NOT say a word. Someone telling them to keep mouths shut on the topic is the overall impression everyone has.

Poor management with poor judgement to sweep it under the rug. If that's the case I guess ASR wasn't a big enough lesson.

In my humble opinion, the worst management in the industry works inside the walls of DePuy Warsaw. It's time to wake up and fire this dead wood.

    True!

We need some Synthes blood to take over in Warsaw. It's a sad state of affairs.

From what I have seen, the Synthes blood is about the same!

been quiet on here for a month. I just heard of another Midwest consultant switching back to sigma recently, but haven't heard why. I'm thinking tibia, but not sure. What's the word? And why would that tibia not function the same as sigma?

So, what's the link supposed to tell me? That they have been looking at tibia fixation for a TM PS design in Canada? That doesn't explain loosening across the this country with approved designs.

How is the Canadian knee being studied is different from the US knee?

    They're nicer,friendlier, nobody doesn't like Canadian Knees.

Have been following this thread, but hadn't seen any issues in my territory until today. Just pulled out our first two Attunes. Tibial tray lifted clean as could be. Doc thinks he has a few more out there. Is this something to worry about?

So we have new tibial prep but no one can tell me if I should switch to that instrumentation, why exactly we came out with it, or really anything of value. I feel like they should communicate better on this. I'm sure it's a few isolated incidents but the lack of response is what is allowing this to fester.

No issues here with attune! Docs lining up to switch business to me left and right. Best knee on the market today, bar none! I told the Zimmer rep in the OR that he could come work for me if he wanted yo after his doc switched from Persona. Anyone know when we are gonna get that revision system? I plan on putting the Stryker rep in the poor house as well. Can't stop Depuy!

Ha! Sounds great, but it will take more clinically-relevant advancements than just snazzy trade names on every articulating interface or radii (GlideRight! aka our patella may not clunk as much anymore, until you give up and revert back to Sigma, or Sofcam! aka ignore the hunk of bone we just removed because the cam is really smooth and rad, or Gradius! because Stryker keeps talking about radii and that sounds like fun...) to sustain competitive conversions...especially given the early tibial lucencies, the larger box cut, super-convenient trochlear recess cut, uncontained/overhanging poly (with unproven industrial antioxidant), and the fact that stability through ROM has less to do with just the radius of the femoral component but rather more closely related to the kinematically appropriate translation of femoral component relative to tibial articular geometry... GlideRight on friends!

I will agree that the marketing names are overkill but the advancements they represent are nice. Not sure what you are referring to but the box cut on Attune is small. Stryker starting a massive campaign marketing the radius of the knee and then down playing its importance is funny. Kind of like you guys telling docs sleeves are overkill and not needed in revisions. Now I see you guys drooling over your sleeves and telling docs they are the best thing ever. Every surgeon in my area who has tried it in my area said they are really happy with how their patients are doing and it's worth taking a sulcus cut. You obviously don't know how the poly locking detail works as there isn't as issue with overhang or I contained poly. Biomet has proven you don't have to have to have a peripheral capture for insert. Everyone who has tried it has switched and there are more who are switching as soon as the stemmed tibia and constrained inserts are available.

Remember prelaunch when people were saying how attune was a game changer and was going to be a product that Surgeons called us about? Still waiting for that to happen. I can't believe they still don't have a revision system with it.

    new tibial prep instruments?

Attune looks like Triathlon with a bunch of marketing names.

    Gradius?
    Glideright?
    Softcam?

In my area, Attune has done a great job converting Sigma users into Attune users, but that's about it. Persona has had more of an impact, and everyone's kind of waiting to see the mako TKA. Very little buzz about Attune, other than some docs complaining about plastic trials.

Everyone really likes the patella clamp, though.
