Interested in how many U.S. based field sales reps have left Alcon in last 60 days.

you can look at pres club ranking for March and count US field sales. I think there were 90 vacancies and people that don't qualify (which means they are new to territory for whatever reason). In eye care, we lost 20 in one month

Chanting “We smoke weed,” hundreds of people marched through downtown Fort Worth on Saturday to rally for the legalization of marijuana as part of the Global Marijuana March.

10 of the 48 DM positions are either vacant or recently filled, so more than 20% turnover within the last 6 months. And of course, 3 of 5 of the RDs were hired within the last year. And then the Alisha thing. But hey, we're doing awesome! Go Alcon!

Yes, Kate's a moron for sure but it's more than that. A lot of it has to with the marketplace and there have been so many outside opportunities this year with Sun, Shire, etc looking to hire people with ophthalmic experience, throw extra money at them, and make it a no-brainer decision. Or, you stay behind at Alcon with f'ed up goals, constantly changing comp plans, lack of data, and a leader who has no freakin clue what the hell she's doing.

Thanks. What do you mean about the goals and data? How has the marketplace changed . . . that Alcon reps would leave Alcon?

Well said and correct. joe g and crew have "fixed" the operational issues yet people are still leaving. commissions are in essence rewarding the turds and the best of the best get handcuffed. rumor is Bernie Sanders had a hand in building the plan! Oh and thanks for screwing over the entire sales force on pazeo.

look at any corporation anywhere...people stay or go based on loyalty and leadership...
we have lost that culture that built and branded loyalty, combine that with the fact we have ZERO leadership at the VP/RD level that knows how to motivate and inspire. Our vp leadership is laughable and embarrassing. We need someone people want to follow and model themselves after. Not someone we cringe every time she speaks and wonder how is this person our "leader"

I see the quota at plan is about $40k but other sites report an average of about $30k for Alcon reps. How much are people really making in commission on average?

Alcon reps are leaving to work for Valeant. That's how shitty it is at Alcon now.

Didn't plank just leave? Long term successful DM...guess the Bernie sanders commission plan didn't excite him

Yep. Went to PClub and quit the next week as did several others.
And for the first time ever people chose not to go to PClub at all, just quit and forfeit the free trip. What does that tell you?

Hey if you really want to know the cause of all the Alcon turnover, you should ask Adam G, the head of HR for US Pharma. Oh wait, he's no longer part of the company either. Now who will handle the processing of 25 rep exit interviews in just one month?

Face it, pharma reps are mostly silly little kids who lack common sense and a work ethic. They are like teenagers really. Fold at the first sight of responsibility and challenge. The Vision Care kiddies are the same. So now the company is relying on a bunch of Breakfast Club misfits to drive numbers. Good luck with that.
