Great question! Unfortunately, you're not likely to get a great answer.

    So is mine.

My manager rides with me 2 days every 3 weeks. He's getting many offices upset as they see him so often and he's so aggressive.

The manager job is the most laughed about job. Doctors are shutting their doors when manager is with you. Ugh

I couldn't agree more. Been in Industry over 17 yrs and Managers use company expense budget for their own travel pleasure and a avenue to accumulate points for airlines and hotels for their personal use. On top of that, they want you to schedule appointments based upon their schedule (so much for putting customers needs first). They fly in, work 1 or 1 1/2 days and call it a week with two days for travel. don't attend programs and can be eliminated and have one regional manager to do admin work (exp reports, etc..). They don't bring any value to the table and their egos make them feel they are indispensable. They for the most part do not help with any admin issues (tell you to call help desk, call a colleague) and also make you do your own performance evaluation. get rid of them.

What business unit? my dm is actually really liked by offices and my customers respond well when they know he is there "evaluating" me. If a manager is too aggressive, they need to be reported to HR. Don't put up with it. If they get kicked out of an office, report it!

Hey Stock holders!!!! If you want to grow the business and lower costs, eliminate the manager positions. In time, you will see.

I didn't even think of reporting it. I don't want retaliation.

Managers may not be needed, but leaders are. At the dm level, bsr level and executive levels. Those complaining about their managers may have a not so good one, but it is more likely that the complainers are slackers who do not work very hard or very smart.

EVERYONE needs a coach. Executives, professional athletes, actors and yes, even BSRs. Good managers are coaches, and there are many here. Get over yourselves.

The problem is the coaches are spending more time trying to get laid than coaching.

Amgen BCBU managers are micromanaging, egotistical, primary care know nothings which is the worst kind of manager to have in this business. This place is a depressing clown show!

This position is really a laughing stock. Physicians will not let managers come on field visit with rep because of the a$$ and pony show. My manager stays in the car most of the day.
