Did you see the American College of Physicians recommendations? It's in all the news outlets, you can find the original paper free online.

Recommendations: all patients receive behavioral therapy for insomnia, not meds. Meds only with a patient discussion of benefits and harms, last resort.

Couldn't help but notice the list of harms for Suvorexant was the longest of any in the table (based on studies, not the label).

Suvorexant: somnolence; cognitive and behavioral changes, such as amnesia, anxiety, hallucinations, and other neuropsychiatric symptoms; complex behaviors, such as “sleep-driving”; worsening of depression, including suicidal thinking in persons with depression; daytime impairments; sleep paralysis; hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations

    Good luck ...

What is insomnia? A bad boss. A stressful situation. A bad job. As well as many other issues that throws you off balance. You don't drug someone because they can't sleep. You have to change the environment.
