Who else is tired of the un-kept promises that Seqirus and Touchpoint keep telling us about? Just a week ago Jonathan told us on the conference call that we would be hearing about the changes to the bonus plan last week on conference calls, but seems that the managers didn't have the calls to tell us about the bonus plan.
We are selling two products that Seqirus gets the sales numbers for but Touchpoint has to try and put them together and send them out as Seqirus does not want to pay for the true data.
Lets talk about management. I know I have lost all confidence in my manager and from what I hear others have lost all confidence in him as well. He is considered the "senior" manager (BA) yes has No hospital sales experience, No hospital product launch experience, No small phama experience. He is a total micromanager, wants to control everything that you do, and always asks for information at the last minute. When we as a sales for ask Seqirus for help, we are still waiting 6 months after our hire date. BA wake up and treat your team with respect, this is a great opportunity for you to learn from the sales force. Learn and understand hospitals, and the protocols that each hospital has in place for sales representatives.
Seqirus - two product launches going on at the sametime, yet no budgets for travel to effectively work our territories. No detail aids or leave behinds. No numbers and from what we are hearing for Fluad we wont get numbers as they don't want to buy the sales numbers from the distributors (can't wait to see how they are going to be tracking them). Lets not forget that they haven't paid bonus out yet at all, and we have not been told how we are going to be paid bonus.
If you are looking at joining this salesforce do your homework and understand what you are getting into. Truth be told it would not surprise any of us on the sales force if they just lay the sales force off, and give both products to the inside (West) sales team. If Seqirus really wanted to keep the sales force they would have rolled us over to Seqirus by now and we would not still be working on this Publicis contract.

I could not agree more with the above post. As a former employee (yes I left for a better opportunity) feel that my manager (BA) was way in over his head with understanding how the hospitals systems work, and the understanding of getting appointments. The old days of hospital sales of just walking in and walking around no longer exist. I know that I had lost all confidence in (BA) when I was working under him. During the exit interview process I was also upset with Publicis and with Seqirus. When talking about the lack of bonus plan Publicis kept saying it was Seqirus falt, yet (BA) kept saying it comes from Publicis. So who is right? Will there even be a bonus? Also the lack of information for our customers, at some point Seqirus needs to just step up to the plate and spend some money on this info, the excuss that it still going through the name change has been used way to often. I also explained to HR about the lack of budgets, yet in the interview process we were told there was a travel budget to cover your territory. What I had signed up for was a total fake with Publics and Seqirus. If you are still currently employeed with them, then you should start looking. I have been in vaccine sales for many years and come summer you will all be without jobs as they have nothing more to work on, and no numbers to show how you are doing.

Thank you to Touchpoint and the client Seqirus for again over promising and under delivering on promises. Jonathan promised 2 weeks ago on a conference call that the bonus plan was going to be rolled out with how it will benefit all of the sales force. Two weeks have gone by and still no bonus plan, payout dates, or how it will benefit the sales force. Thanks again Touchpoint and Seqirus for all the broken promises!

Is this some kind of joke? I did a skype interview with Brian. Is he really the senior district manager on this contract? I have over 20 years in hospital sales, and the questions that I was asking him he didn't know the answers to. The answer he kept giving was what physicians do you know at your hospitals who can champion Rapivab into the hospital. I explained to him it is not about the champion physician until the IDNs, and hospital pharmacies approve the product. He seemed clueless.

I also did a skype interview with Brian and everything I was speaking with him about on hospitals his answer was "get a champion to help get it stocked." Is he that far removed from hospital sales or has he ever been in hospital sales to understand it is all about the pharmacy approving a product along with IDNs approving products. I felt that Brian was in way over his head with being a manager for a product such as rapivab.
With that being said, I do not have a job after spending 22 years with Merck so any real advice on what its like working here? I asked him to provide a few names that I can contact to get a real grip on what the job is like, and he said he would not provide names of current employees

Yes you are correct, Brian is the worst possible manager. If you did the skype interview with him and you did not get offered the job, that's a blessing. Brian is in way over his head with hospital sales. His team has lost all confidence in him and his abilities to lead his district. I feel back for the other managers as they have to answer to him as well. Brian needs to wake up and understand this is not big pharma, hospitals sales are very different then primary care sales. Pharmacy level execs don't want you to go page to page on a detail aid. It is to bad that we do not get to do confidential manager reviews so touchpoint can get real picture. The best thing that could happen is for Brian to step down from his position and go back to primary care, where your experience is, and the lunches you want everyone to do, and the front cover to back page detail that you wish could happen. Brian we have no confidence in your abilty.

Not sure that position was ever filled. If you are unemployed and need a job take it, if you have a job and looking to come over do not take it. If Brian is going to be your manager DO NOT TAKE IT AT ALL. He is the worst manager. His team and other managers have no confidence in him or his abilities. If touchpoint really wanted to know the truth they would do anonymous reviews on managers like all the other pharmaceuticals do on their managers. Brian is big pharma detail every page, walk them through this, walk them through that. He has no hospital experience and does not understand how hospitals work. So if Brian is going to be your manager run and run very fast. If you truly need a job and you can put up with large territories with no budget to cover your territory its a job. You will get no support from touchpoint or from seqirus our parent company. Hope this real and true advice is helpful.

I could not agree more with the above posts. As a former employee of Seqirus contract, Brian is the worst. The best thing for the company and for him would be to resign and go back to primary care which he knows and understands, and allowing someone who understands hospitals step into his role. His team has no confidence in him, he is not a leader, he is very primary care (go from the front to the back cover in all details) hospitals do not work that way. Brian does not understand that hospitals work under IDNs and its not just about getting a champion. Having worked this contact I can assure you that this info is true and accurate. About the contract and your territory, there are no travel/over night budgets to work your territory, there are no corporate accounts to work large national IDNs (most based out of TN), I felt as if Seqirus was setting this contract up to pass it over to the West (inside sales) team once word is gets out about both Rapivab and Fluad product launches. If you must take a job take it and keep looking, if you can hold off I would really recommend holding off. Brian if you would do yourself and Seqirus a good job step away from your position and get back into the primary care that you know as you know nothing about hospital sales and you are bringing down your team and the sales force.

I agree with the comments listed above. No my manager is not Brian, I have a different manager but I have spoken to a lot of reps on Brian's team who tell me how miserable they are with Brian as the manager. They talk about how Brian is very primary care detail "tell the story", "go cover to cover" on the detail piece, "why did you skip this page, why did you say that and not this" very primary care. I have also heard my manager talk about Brian in the same way. From what I hear his team doesn't believe in his leadership and management skills. I also hear that Brian wants everyone on the team to sell the same way and does not understand that all hospitals, and hospital systems are different in the ways and the process to sell to them. Sounds like to me having been in management myself Brian is very closed minded, primary care, type manager. Do it this way and this way only, and then tell me about it, but if you are not doing it this way you are doing it wrong. The truth is do it anyway you can as long as you are getting sales numbers. Brian would be better off sitting back and observing some of the different sales styles and taking advantage of something from each of his reps instead of forcing them to see his way.
As for the company, yes there are growing pains, and uncertainties in the company. If you need a job take it, if you have a job stay put. Seems Seqirus can hire new people for its company but they seem to not have any interest in bringing this contract over full time to be Seqirus reps. My advice is to keep looking for something better to come along where you feel you have the respect and backing from a good company and if you are on Brian's team good management. Best thing that could happen is to have the Senior Manager Brian to step down, and get back into primary care sales which is what he knows. Hospitals are not for him. Let the other management staff who have been in hospitals for numerous years take over and gain back the support from sales team.
Touchpoint - any thoughts on doing anonymous management reviews to get a good idea of what is really going on in the field?

Its good to see that Seqirus can win big time awards for its vaccine line, and can donate 20,000 doses of flu vaccines to other countries, but they can not even pay a bonus to the reps in the field here in the US and they keep using Publicis as their sales force. If Seqirus was so great they would have hired the sales reps in the US on already, and they would have the know how to pay out bonus. Anyone else see anything wrong with this?

Seqirus is a second rate company who has leaders in the field who are over their heads with what they can do. They know they are over promising everything they are saying. If you need the job, keep it until you find another one. Jonathan will continue to lie. Product sold in hospital is hardest in industry to sell.

Yes it is a challenge, which is why you couldnt do it and didnt get rolled over. Don't hate on us cause you ain't us. You want your cush job where you dont have to work and dont have to be accountable go back to primary care. I am sure you will realize your self worth there. Keep your bags packed because everytime it gets tough out there you will start running again. Time to look in the mirror and be honest for once.

Wrong, I was rolled over to Seqirus and am with you and calling on hospitals. You are the kool aid drinker and a yes man so don't talk about what you don't know. Pharma is a kush job and you should know, you have one.

Seqirus is a job to take if you do not currently have a job. If you have one, don't go for the extra money because their products are hard to sell and I don't think there is a future with this company. Many have already left the company when they were able to get a better job. Managers have unrealistic expectations and you will soon realize that the stress with this job will be unbearable.
