Anyone who has gone on one of these group interviews once knows. More times than not, its a loss of time and money. Many people see it as employers wanting to see who's out there if approval goes through. Unfortunately, many approvals do not go through. Speculative plane trips do lead to people bowing out. Final negotiation plane trips, a different story.

First of all, I'll clarify that I have received a job offer on every job that I've applied for in specialty pharma, so I'm not a loser. The interview in Chicago was my first experience with a cattle call type interview and I was told right after the second interview that they are going with another candidate. And I assumed it was the candidate that I saw shaking hands with the interviewers when we all arrived as he already knew all of them. My point being, I will NEVER attend any interview of this nature again, as I believe the candidate was chosen before we ever interviewed for the job. I met this candidate and he was NOT friendly, and didn't seem too intelligent. I tried to strike up a conversation with him and he wasn't having it.. A complete waste of my time, as they just flew me in to fill a spot on the roster, so they could say they interviewed more than one person for the position. And WHERES MY EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT SHIRE??????

Google Kathy Kobe, Kansas City for the address to send your expenses to. She'll take care of it. After all she's the initiator of this wonderful process, it's only fitting she should help out the people she bamboozled.

I always find it amusing that when people are interviewed the golden star too often seems to be connections. Its really funny when you see deeply experienced people with medical or science backgrounds being passed over in favor of marketing grads, history major and the like. As for intelligence it's often in the eye of the beholder. After all, the marketeer and historians will know a lot more about pathology and disease states than any medical person. That seems obvious...when it needs to be! Chuckle.

I am sorry you are unhappy. Sometimes in life you get the job, sometimes you dont. If you continue to be angry and carry a bad attitude it will reflect in other interviews as well. Most likey there is another job that is a better fit for you. The other candidate is a better fit for this one. Name calling doesnt help. It only males you a lesser person. Suck it up. Life goes on and so should you! Continuing to post negativity on a board is what makes you a loser. Moving on with a positive attitude gets you the job you really need. Good luck. Goodbye.

Actually what makes someone a loser is having literally hundreds of posts calling out their bad leadership decisions. Time for you to suck it up and make a change. Only then will the negativity stop.

Maybe you should heed your own advise. Make a change. Stop the negativity.

Sorry asshole. I'm not the one with the ego fixation who has everyone complaining about their antiquated methods and constant poor leadership.

Start with looking from within before you worry about us normal people.

Great and thoughtful post! I also hope the negative poster finds a job that better meets their skills. Have a great weekend my Shire friends!
