A neurologist friend of mine told me today that AspireSR would be the only generator available for new VNS patients. Is this true? Is Cyberonics only making the SR available for new VNS cases?

Can't say if that's true but #s show channel stuffing with a new product is bad biz! Especially new products that physicians can't grasp. Sounds like a maneuver to hold stock price up prior to unloading. Smells like Vrx without the middleman. Time will tell what the market wants

What a shocker to see my sales rep peddling trinkets in Dec. Not this year buddy!

Could not agree more... The AspireSR, is a complete joke, Cybx is promoting it as a closed looped system ( when it is NOT) and stating that it no longer is like the old models because it doesn't work the way the older technology does- with giving false positives. It does the same D@mn thing. The 2 clinical studies were a complete failure, only testing if the AspireSR will pick up an increase in heart rate, with a very limited amount of patinets in the trials, and nothing else was tested, Cybx promotes it as a good thing that the trials got stopped mid way because they were able to prove the one thing they targeted prematurely. 2-3 recalls already on the 106- in less than 1 year of FDA indications. The docs don't understand how to program this product and Cybx doesn't take the time to train any managing physician properly on post op dosing.

This company needs to be shut down, neuropace has better technology, as soon as they find a way to get approval for generalized seizures I hope they run Cyberonics in the ground.

Most unethical, and illegal company I've ever heard of in neuro modulation

and you work for whom? Guess if CYBX is most unethical neuromodulation company ever you have not been around this business long. See ST. Jude (ANS days) and what Medtronic Interstim folks have been doing. Bottom line is Aspire is better than previous versions of VNS.
The only "recall" had nothing to do with how the system works. Only how it is programmed. That has been communicated and all should be good now.
Neuropace has a place in this market and it will be used for appropriate patients. A much more invasive system that does about the same thing as VNS. That's not coming from me. That's coming from the Physician's that have used both systems.
Whine all you want but Aspire is here and doing well!

Okay big guy, looks like someone hit a nerve here. Just keep telling yourself we are no more dirty than the other two when we are 10 times worse from top down.

Oh and Aspire is doing so well we can't report unit sale #s....that why your old boss stepped down, no more unit growth. One more day of misery selling this junk! I'm outta here soon

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid Champ, soon you will either find yourself unemployeed or fighting to salvage what little good reputation you have left in this industry

You lost all your credibility when you said Neuropace had better technology. Any doctor who recommends RNS before exhausting other options has an agenda and it's has nothing to do with patient care.

Give me a break....this company doesn't care about patient care, if they did they would have made real innovations instead of continuing to just jack up the price of the product year over year to make themselves look so attractive to merge with joke of a spin off European industrial conglomerate. If the Asprie SR is the most innovative things vs RNS then let's talk ethics!

Oh, the company isn't ethical in the way they treat accounts and their people but the therapy is solid. I'm surprised more accounts haven't called them out on their annual price increase but it must be pretty common place because they don't throw a stink. A lot of the accounts hate CYBX/LivaNova and if anyone else ever entered the VNS market place they would be screwed. The only reasons the wheels haven't come off the bus is because of the relationships the reps have, the therapy is solid and the neurology community supports it. The merger is already screwing over the sales force and it's a matter of time before people start jumping ship and their relationships go with it. It was easier to overlook poor ethics when dealing with pricing issue but when you start cutting your workforce's compensation it's going to translate to poor morale and quality of work.

RNS/Neuropace is a terrible option for 90% of refractory epilepsy patients. It's a super invasive procedure that appeals more to surgeon's egos then to patient outcomes. There are a lot of good reps that do care about patient care and the data, clinical experience and just common sense makes VNS a good choice. The feedback on the AspireSR has been very good and it's making a difference. You can bang on the company all you want, they are indefensible, but don't throw the therapy under the bus.

If you think Cyberonic is lying to you wait until you get a taste of Sorin Management. They couldn't care less about patients or reps.

    Game over Boys and Girls.

It's like they were made for each other, total crap company that will screw anyone's resume up. Worst decision I made, so glad I've left.
