I used to work in human resources before moving to another department. I can't reveal more than that but I can assure you that human resources is not on your side and they are not interested in finding the truth. They work to satisfy management and are only subject to a legal review to make sure they checked their boxes. Nobody survived their investigations while I worked there unless they were secret friends of someone in h.r. who covered for them.
Our director used her position to take out personal vendettas against those she did not like.
I observed secret monitored phone calls and manufactured evidence to support their cases if legal challenged them to present more damning evidence to justify a termination.

I can second this. This culture was well known when I worked in Wilmington Corp several years ago. It was the only real opportunity for H.R. to feel any sense of power. If you were a white male then you had no chance of surviving one of their investigations because H.R. was full of minorities and man haters.

It is illegal for them to record or listen in on phone calls without notifying the person being interviewed or investigated. If you have specific evidence then you should do the right thing and report it to the legal authorities.

Not true at all! In Georgia, only 1 party has to have knowledge that a phone call is being recorded. Each state has it's own laws regarding such matters.

This is quite possibly the dumbest statement ever posted on CP. If a call is being recorded then obviously one party is aware of it. Duh!!! There is either a law or there isn't that requires the party doing the recording to make the other party aware of it. AZ headquarters is in Delaware and it is against the law there to listen in or secretly record an official investigative call without notifying the person being interviewed.

If every sales rep, not dependent on any particular company, were truly tracked , how many would still have a job? Not too many I would suspect. Probably even more as one would investigate up the chain of management.

The poster you are making fun of is correct. A relative of mine works for a major corporation headquartered in GA in HR, and the party recording a conversation has NO obligation to inform the party being recorded. Each state does have their own laws regarding recording conversations. AZ does not do it.

You're wrong and I know this. You have a right as a person to record your daily activities. You might run into trouble if you try to publish it or use it against someone.

You are a typical jackass who knows zip and pretends to be an expert. Trained by a big company that could care less about you personally. Good luck.

Hey HilLIARY, It is appropriate that the letters LIAR appear in her name. Like H.R. she is not interested in the truth.
I used to work in H.R. and witnessed them routinely listening in on calls unannounced. They would put the phone on mute and discuss their next gotcha question to try to trap the person. I got so disgusted with the culture there that I transferred to another department. It was a series of one witch hunt after another and a lot of loyal and honest employees were punished or terminated because of manufactured evidence.

The above is extremely disturbing and obviously a post from a troll - certainly no honest HR employee would ever say / do those things, which for the most part are a total myth. Rest assured, you can trust HR. Yes, we have many tools at our disposal, such as the capability to track our sales force virtually 24/7. But we rarely implement these tactics unless there are complaints that require follow-up. If you have complaints just call our toll free hot line to report out abuse, fraud, inappropriate and unethical behavior etc by your fellow employees. Your calls are 100% confidential, and in the past have helped us root out the troublesome sales reps faking calls, etc.

Even in the age of Google you are still ignorant - SMH. Each state has its own law. Here it's just one.

HR is not your friend. They can and will do anything they like and what they like is looking out for AZ. The compliance line is a joke - nothing happens and it is not really anonymous

HR is definitely NOT your friend and will support management--even malicious vindictive management, in order to protect the company. Managers have WAY TOO MUCH POWER to destroy anyone they want to and HR backs them up. It's a sad state of affairs. They drive away good, honest employees just because a very unskilled manager doesn't like them for extremely unjustified reasons.

HR is your friend. They are here to help you, not hurt you. Pay no attention to the terminated troll behind the curtain.

HR is your friend if you happen to be African American, Asian, Hispanic, Gay or a hump backed dwarf. But if you are a white male then you can kiss your ass goodbye if they get a shot at you.
Now for the best advice I can give you, we are not tracked routinely but if they want to fire you then they have access to all of the tracking data they need from stamped parking, tolls, gas receipts with locations, mileage on your car, and call data linked to time stamps on sample sigs. etc. Not to mention auditing your expense report. Nobody including the CEO could survive if they wanted to press the issue. And if all else fails, HR will find witnesses from the sales force who would love to stab you in the back to make up false evidence to take you out.

They don't need to track you to get rid of you. A standard procedure for HR is to research you District or Region and find some people who don't like you or find the backstabbers who love to take you out. Then they will interview only those people to create evidence to fire you. They will never interview people who might support you, even if there are dozens or hundreds. This is how it works at AZ.
