A QUESTION...

Tell me why Lundbeck now feels we have to have a multi-hour role play session at every, single meeting? The upcoming meeting is just a rehash of past meetings! Why is it necessary to spend hours role playing the same information time and time again? Also, let's have the ASM's lead by example, and let US play doctor so we can "learn" from our leaders! Fat chance that will happen, because they would choke like they swallowed a bone!!

Come on JA, challenge your managers to lead by example for a change! I won't hold my breath.

Good question, but the answer is obvious. Role playing the same crap over and over at meetings takes up lots of time. Simple as that. We you have nothing to say of real value, you role play. End of story.

Answer: You still don't know how to detail!

As a ASM, we are not exactly excited to do yet another role playing session, but we have no choice. Yes, it helps to stretch out the time, and yes we think it's been overdone, but that's the way it is. And yes, meetings are becoming more big pharma like each and every time. It's not us, I can assure you.

Wow! The above post from the last national meeting still applies! Any chance they would cancel the meeting if we paid them?

The above post was posted on 2/3/2016, and still sums it up nicely about having unnecessary meetings to do the same things over and over. Glover said yesterday that we need to be in front of our docs as much as possible, then turns around and schedules meetings all of the country! You can't make this stuff up! The agenda sounds like the agenda from the last 3 years of meetings. Conclusion: the "marketing team" has no new ideas.

I have a new idea! Break this silly tradition of meeting for the sake of saying we met, and save money and time out of he field! Then give us the additional money saved for LUNCHES NOT PROGRAMS! I know HO considers this extremely radical, but it just may work!

you are trying to teach old dogs new tricks

most of these people in home office if they were a "rep" at any time were carrying a bag back when things were 180 degrees different. it's far easier to not be a risk taker and do what everyone else has been doing in pharma for 20 years. after all, how did they get there?

its like trying to change prescribing habits of a 70yr old doctor, they don't change

when you have hours to detail, that means there is nothing new for you and this is filler time. you go and practice and pretend for a few hours then go fly home and just move on

Please Glover give us lunch money! I don't need another dinner program this year. The Alpha team is scheduling their launch dinners, let's let them have programs to drive the new indication. Otherwise we are trying to get the same docs to our dinners!

As for the meetings, I don't mind them at all. I like getting together and working on messaging. The role play is nothing. The exchanging of ideas and stragegies with other AMs from across the regions is what gives me a fresh outlook.

What total BS from a non-rep! The role playing is silly, redundant, and only used to fill up time! Why would you want to exchange ideas and strategies with someone who is a direct competitor? WE ARE FORCED RANKED IDIOT! Your "team members" are just as much a competitor as Sunovion or Alkermes!

I want program monies as I can get good people out to programs. The problem is that our speakers are horrible! All the good ones are capped and picking speakers on the basis of their writing hurts us as they can prescribe but can't speak.

i was not the above poster who said give us more lunch funds but I agree with him/her and I am a rep here well, actually an account manager on psych side and I do like the meetings too - and I'm tired of all the complaining about mtgs - I like them and enjoy seeing my co-workers

I like seeing my "co-workers" as well, or at least I used to. So many have quit and gone on. A small group of people i know that are still left, plan on having a little "recruiter swap" get together! In re going to meetings, if we actually came away with something useful that would increase sales that would be different, but we never do! Meetings have been almost a carbon copy of themselves for years now! People have no faith in management whatsoever. We are forced (they keep up with the names of those that do not fill out surveys) to do and lie on company surveys, and to say how much we enjoyed the meeting!

No, there is no reason to meet at all, and upper management has to realize it. Somebody has a box to check and nothing more.
