Are you serious? grow up. You give the younger generation a bad name. Last time I checked, you don't get younger, so before you know it - in a few years - people will be saying the same thing about your wrinkled old ass. idiot

BS on this post, pure and simple. The 15 hour week went out when computers (time clocks) came in. I left in my early 50s after using my years with BMS building a side business. That's back when you actually could work 15-35 hours a week and make good bonus if you were smart. It's a good job, but the golden years of ultimate flexibility in your schedule are gone forever, any youngster who says otherwise is full of shit.

Right! Once metrics with computer monitoring took over, the entire fun of this this job went to hell. Relationships sold our drugs. It was us and the doctor. If your drug was good and he/ she liked you, you did well. Now it's all gpo's, insurance companies, etc. the rep is way down the list of influences on doctors prescribing. All they're good for now is feeding the office cows and activity for the sake of activity.
Ah, the good old days ! Life was good....and still is with my fat pension and 401k that won't be duplicated by the current reps.

No one cares about your "fat" pensions. That's just a fall back excuse and a thinly veiled acceptance of old age. Time is is the most valuable resource there is. I'll take my youth over a stack of cash any day. Thankfully, I have both.

You never know if you'll make it this far.

New here, oh my goodness this thread is nasty, but spot on. There is only one other person in my district under 40, the rest are coasting and hiding. This is truly pathetic, there are no local leaders or role models. Only folks from 45-65 just milking the company. Once we get some of these old folks into their homes, then BMY stock and medicines can truly soar. It's going to take some time to transition these folks out, but when it happens, watch out.

Thank goodness there's two of you holding up the entire district. I guess when you hit 41 the district will be in big trouble?

Yes I am for sure. I finally have concrete evidence, witnesses who will back me, a myriad of emails(paper trail) my stupid previous primary care manager sent out. I am a top performer by numbers, 3 trips, and wow guess what? my doctors let me back when all you snarky 'young' reps cant-because they dont know your name without a nametag, You'll be there in 10-20 years with people making fun of you-(cant wait till it happens)Karma is a bitch- and will be facing the exact same problems. We 'over 50' people probably wiped your sorry ass butt, and taught you many things about life (even though you know everything already you snarky narccasistic blowholes) For those of you legitimate people who really work and have great relationships built with your HCP's I may have a way for you to report through a random hotmail or gmail account. To be continued...

You know how to use email? Did you have to take a class?

This person is SO old and crotchety! And they wonder why no one wants them around. What a pleasure they must be. Look in the mirror.

Let's go to Starbucks and discuss this by text while we sit across from each other while sipping our machiados laced with Madagascar cinnamon.

Sad but true. I hate to see the good reps who have been fired or quit because of a DBM. I left a few years ago, but hear it's gotten worse and that they are hiring reps without oncology experience from primary care or nursing and then training them their way.

But guess what BMS? Just about every rep you have is either miserable and/or looking to get away from this BS.

Totally true on the hiring of nurses and non oncology reps. I was happy to join and sell the IO science. Quite unimpressed once the curtain was pulled back. New offer in pocket.

Your company is so old. We can pick you out of a crowd, always a blue hair.

I think this thread is somehow corrupted. Wouldn't let me in after answering several verification questions. OF COURSE AGE DISCRIMINATION RUNS RAMPANT IN BMS SALES ORG AT LEAST. Just look around in Oncology RBD A.W. Region. 8 good people over 55yo in the last year (that I know of) given plans, packages, or other manipulative offers that force you out so you wont sue. Well BMS: Older Americans discrimination act (anyone over 40 by the way) says that when you push someone to decide between a plan and a severance-you are required to give them 21 days to mull it over. Apparently you are bullying people into making a rapid choice in 1-2 days.
Anyone wanting to join in for group discussion about this let me know.
