OK, why the post? This is not even an active rumor, just an observation from an analyst which happens all the time. Many analysts will look at BMS at opine about the positive M/A options with many companies. This happens to virtually every company, so big deal. Nothing to see here!

Makes more sense than you know. Old BMS regime at Amgen now and would love nothing more then to stick it to the current regime who pushed them out. Just brought over a Sr VP from Amgen to straighten out a very disfunctional access team. Wouldnt be surprised if Amgen has a takeover plan or desire to eliminate BMS all together.

The Canadian Moffia doesn't stand a chance. Amgen will crush them. Gonna be fun to watch unfold.

    Always remember:
"The kids at Bristol are sharp as a thistle, when they do the Bristo Stomp!
Really something when the joint is jumping, when the do the Bristol Stomp!
Whoa, it started at Bristol, at a DJ hop. They holler and whistle, never want to stop, and here's the latest, it's a crazy site to see"!

I am an insider at NYC office. Yes the above is from a WS M&A analyst and it is spot on. The leadership is looking into serious / drastic actions to grow the bottom line and this will probably happen, as we are working with SEC on legalities.

Haha you're not doing jack shit! Oh the above is not from an analyst either it's BMS presentation at the Jpm conference that's available to everyone. And people working with BMS claiming to be working on a merger and the sec would never post on cafe pharma . Fu loser

I am disappointed with this fictitious post. Shame on you for making up BS ! I am knowledgeable of ongoing efforts to merge. I have seen the docs ! You should be thankful !!

Please provide some positive posts or I will not post any more updates, my friend.

This post is over 2.5 years old and it’s looking like it will be true after all.

    Facts:
Just because Amgen cherrypicked a BMS leader doesn't mean they want the company. Amgen has the second largest war chest of all pharma-bio companies with over 40 billion cash, J & J takes the top spot. Amgen hq employees would never leave their posh Google like campus near the Malibu beaches to reassemble in a BFE state. They don't want a washed up pharma company where reps have state college degrees and call themselves territory managers. Amgen is an elite ivy league pedigree and is more likely to gravitate to Celgene or Biogen in a takeover. Merger? Never. The ONLY way this would happen is if BMS market cap drops below 75 billion and then a reverse merger would occur. 50% of all BMS staff would be severed in 60 days followed by another 25% within 6 months. Essentially Amgen would acquire the products and pipeline and rid employees and real estate. This is the same scenario played out a few years ago when Merck did a reverse merger with Schering Plough, ask former SP employees how that worked out. BMS is a dinosaur which will eventually succumb to its own demise. Amgen has brains and cash and is in the position to acquire more attractive companies, keep dreaming.

They will only be keeping a select number of Amgen employees. Both orgs will be shed to try and get to a revenue/employee or revenue/G&A expense similar to Gilead or Celgene.

Amgen still has aspirations to be a leader in Immuno-Oncology. Amgen didn't purchase a PD-1 and be late to the market for a reason. They were always going to buy a lead program and with BMS stock down, this is the perfect time for a merger.

Murdo will return to his home back on the East Coast as the leader of a slimmed down combined company. The blood bath will be in who is left in each company and how the combined company and spin-off will be structured and led.

McKinsey working out the details and financials of this deal for board approval. It's a matter of when not if.
