Must be hard to raise your price, I guess that's why the good reps still stuck around and made their commissions... reading these threads, it's nice to see the weak ones are gone. Medline is a sales company, if your solid, you will make a large amount of money; if you are weak, not the right company, go sell pharma.

This is the culture at Medline. I is all about them. I raised my business by over 20% and made less the than I did the year before. Year after year it was the same story with these clowns. Don't fall for the "you could not hack it so you suck as a rep". This is the way they operate to keep the sheep in the pasture. I is a straight pimp job where you are the trick. These clowns will trick you into putting the blinders on and making them rich while you get paid less and less. This is why my manager had a second home and a boat while his reps struggled to pay their house notes. I laugh when I see a Medline rep in the OR now knowing what I know. It has been said a million times -use them to get into the industry and then dump the chumps. There is no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. Do not waste your career hoping that one day you will become rich or a manager. You need to look at this as a 24 month apprenticeship to get into device like I did. It will always be your fault with Medline they will never take responsibility for anything. Don't blame the manager on these boards for telling the story his way - that is what he is paid to do.

The truth is that you are a low balling distributor. All you do in this compay is suck off materials to get your low quality supplies in the door. You can not take those materials to the floor level because you know you will get laughed at by the end users.

That is the reason why you do not make any moey here! There are no margins!

Re: Medline Truth/ Medline busted for $85 mil

Here is a site that breaks the news that Medline will pay $85 Million for offering kickbacks.
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...20850920110312

As of this last week (11-17-11), Medline is trying to start up a new sales division under a the name "Legend Disposable Medical Products" and they say it is owned by "Medical Products" in Mississippi. Do some digging and you will see the people who gave the interviews (Marriot in Irvine, CA) were not that bright. Interviews were for 50 people in the lobby, not a private room or across the street at their new "executive suite" at 18101 Von Karmen Ave. #330. I went to the interview believing the V.P. of Sales (Lisa) is the dumbest person I ever met. She's probably not a V.P. of anything. She acts like a bagger at the supermarket. Enough said. Keep a watch on these crooks.

Honest and balanced. Obviously from someone who has been there. Much worse could be said. Nepotism, buy the business, fines and fees on everything, etc.. Don't do this unless you can tolerate this type of culture/ environment.

Wow, I went through the same thing. Several interviews, two days on the road, countless personality tests, dinner with the potential boss. And this: they wanted three references. I gave them three. Each one was the owner/president of a company that I had worked for in the past and each one told me that they gave me a great reference and told Medline that if they did not hire me, please let them know because they would call to see if I would go back to work for them.

I pressed them about the actual earnings as I had been in sales for 20+ years and seen it all. All I wanted was the actual numbers, formula, path to pay. They ducked and dodged and after my second interview in Chicago, I was back on the plane and headed home.

Later that day, they called and told me my references did not turn out well enough for them to hire me. (liars)

The real truth is, it would not have mattered if they showed you a pay plan or not. Because one of the first things you will sign as a Medline rep is a contract that allows Medline to change the pay plan at any time for any reason they see fit and you have ZERO recourse. Actually Medline will never cheat you, they will just change the compensation plan to make whatever they want to do legal. Those with the Gold makes the Rules.

I have left and am very happy now. And no this is the truth. Medline changes the rules anytime they want to and you cannot do anything about it.

Medline was the absolute worst company I've ever worked for. I put in a lot of hours and made the least amount of money in my career as a med rep. All it was was a good stepping stone for experience. Poor culture, management, and pay.

Yes, this is correct. It was not always like this, but all new contracts basically state that Medline can change the pay plan anytime they want to and by signing agree to it. I still remember the Promo meeting they passed out the 'New Employment Contracts' and said sign them or quit, your choice.

3/4 of making it with Medline is the territory you end up with. Those in Florida and areas that are growing make bank, but those in the mid-west end up starving. All territories are treated the same as far as expected growth rates and that is not reality. Some areas have declining populations and others are growing but that does not make any difference.

So before you stick your chest out too much, you did not have any much to with making it as you think.

Trying to justify business decisions that are made with poor ethics by claiming the reps are weak? It's never right to cheat people, period.
