Hold on to your seats for this one. NVS plans to cut back big in December. This will start with Management.

I hear as everyone walks around for the outdoor christmas party they will pass out Santa bags to put all of your personal effects into. But to ensure no one will be offended during the Christmas layoff process the bags will only say happy holidays.

The ones that aren't selling anything.

PPTD will take a hit if manufacturing is outsourced. PPTD will probably relocate to NJ or be disbanded altogether since most CMOs' have their own analytical/manufacturing operations. I would not be surprised if the entire FTW manufacturing operation were CMO'd with axing of PPTD, tox, analytical etc.

No. They'll send pharma to NJ like they did NIBR. Probably can a bunch of people in the process since they have no pipeline.

Manufacturing will stay but will no longer be part of Alcon. It will be sold to a CMO. Personnel in FTW North and ASPEX will probably have an option to continue with the CMO. PPTD will disappear. All 'research' (if it can be called that) to be moved to NJ.

We just went through massive layoffs (175 sales reps let go, new alignments, call lists etc) 3 months ago. That doesn't make sense. Not biting on this one.

You better be biting down on this. What are you going to sell when they layoff the people in R&D. Not a damn thing. Correct? Has this company made any sense to you so far? Nope. Open your eyes and look. Let me know what new products are laughing this month? You have no answer correct? I hope you have enough money in your bank account to cover your expenses during the holidays.

Does anyone know if this will affect field sales?

A 'deep analysis of the Alcon business' is management doublespeak for layoffs.
