Those of you who keep chanting "show me outcomes" are proving your lack of involvement in your area. There are hundreds of programs happening all over the country that are making your job easier. There are NVAF projects that are increasing appropriate anticoagulation numbers, there is pain work that helps systems document (and accurately treat) chronic pain, and the smoking cessation work is EVERYWHERE. Not only is it helping the customer but it is blowing the smoking cessation market up. The more you complain, the less knowledgeable you appear. Wake up and call your KAM. If you don't get involved shame on you.

DSRs are just overpaid PHRs. Get real.

Haha, well then shame on me for not using my useless KAM. You can tell yourself all day long how important you are, but the reality is your job is a joke and eventually Pfizer will realize that. In the past I was involved in KAM projects and nothing was ever finished and doctors got annoyed, but you wouldnt know that from the amazingly scripted emails my KAM sent out. One of my best friends is a pain doc in a big group that was working on projects with our KAM after I got her a meeting. They dropped out because the main doctor said it was useless and he was sick of meeting after meeting with no progress on any of the projects.

Now KAM are compensated for sales numbers of large medical groups. I thought they were above sales? Let's just give DSR the KAM resources and stop the madness.

There is only one position in Pfizer more useless than a KAM and it's the VAM position in Vaccines. Can't believe they are still around after all the cutbacks.

This is a great gig for the stay at home mom or a man without ballz. Then again, the rep job suits both of them as well.

talk about irony...HQ looking at these roles. Who is looking at HQ?
We have commercial effectiveness group, strategy team, and an ops team embedded in the sales group. more than half - if not 3/4 of these people are completely unnecessary yet they may be involved in this process. Give me a f-ing break.
we don't have any blockbuster drugs, the ones we do have are not huge growth products. cutting fixed costs is how PFE will continue to be profitable. no need for all of these support staff and yes men and women trying to meet a GPM or IDP goal or objective.

KAMs are the future of Pfizer

and that is the reason Pfizer will
implode on itself. The entire company is an inverted pyramid. Too many useless, worthless people on top and too few necessary people on bottom. Maybe Allergan can straighten it out.

There are more useless people down at or close to the field level. Trust me, if you ever followed a manager for 3 weeks, and put a GPS on his/her car, it would be all over.

What would happen if they put a GPS in all the reps cars.....think about that. Better to be quiet and enjoy the ride. You know that saying...glass houses/stones.

I disagree. I spent 25 yrs. in the upper levels of two companies. The only difference was that at the upper level, we learned to look busy while doing nothing.
There is nothing new to do in Pharma. The 50 yr old model hasn't changed much. The customer has changed, and we now have to sell price vs. product. What new and innovative ways to do that have you seen? We have too many upper and middle managers playing silly games with each other to rise to the next level of silly games.
In the end, nothing changes and the charade continues.

Right! Let's not screw up a good thing! Where else are you going to find a part time job that pays like this one? The perks are endless, the hours are short, and it's only getting better.

So your saying both reps AND managers aren't pulling their weight and goofing off-which is exactly what I meant by my response about glass houses.

Allergan doesn't have "KAMs", whatever they are. Looking through this thread, it's probably pretty safe to assume they wouldn't keep a group like this around.

    Forest/Actavis/Allergan DOES have KAMs.
