You have love how he was just handed the job. I would like to see if he had to go through and was asked the interview ?'s that all of the other ABL candidates were asked.

He was gifted by management due to the "elitist" culture! Novartis takes care of its pack of theives.

I'm sure it's legal and all that but it sure seems dirty to me. Like insider trading. Even if he had info that the division was done, he shouldn't be able to use that info for his own personal gain. Clearly, he did because otherwise they would have filled that spot with someone else before December 22.

Has anyone interviewed yet for the new hf team? What did they mean that we get priority?

Wow! This is crazy. I was looking into working at applying for research jobs at Novartis in Boston. Is it a bad place for researchers and scientists as well?
Can anyone comment on the work culture on the R&D side?

Didn't they just hire Ricardo Dolmetsch? Are they letting him go?

The movie Up In The Air was just on...made me think of what kind of heartless, disconnected from being a human being, corporate brainwashed shells make the decision to lay off people two days before xmas. Not only that but they don't have the decency to even make an individual phone call. They actually sat there and decided that all we are worth is a mass phone call to make it more expedient and efficient.
To all those people that say it is just business as usual....it isn't. It is a real decision that has real impacts on people's lives.
Even though I am the person without a job, I actually feel sorry for the people that participated in that decision process because they must really be empty inside. It isn't the layoff itself because those things happen. It was the way it was done which was wrong and indecent in every way that it could possibly be.

Welcome to the brutal reality of late-stage capitalism, whereby labor arbitrage represents "productive innovation" as growth and development are displaced by increasing shareholder returns.

Does anyone keep in touch with the old NP reps? Did the laid off ones land on their feet elsewhere? Or are they still looking for jobs?

Heard all the managers are still looking.....tough.

Are you kidding? The layoff was the best thing ever! Had a couple of months off, pocketed some severance cash and had a new before it the term date and most people I know did the same.
I still say a big FU to Novartis for making the ridiculously unconscionable decision to lay us off the afternoon of December 22. That will always leave a bitter aftertaste but I'll still take the money. I know there are a lot of folks out there that get laid off and don't get anything so that was good.

Even though I have moved on to a new job, the holidays always make people reminisce.
I just wanted to come back about a year later and remind Richard R. that he is still an asshole! Fuck you dude!
I hope your holidays suck and Entresto does terrible. Haha!
