MT was a bully and using rumors and threats of layoffs was just another tactic he enjoyed to terrorize people. But like all bullies, someone finally rose above him and got even by marching his ass out the door. Suggesting that he gave heads up out of compassion is laughable.

I heard that he simply took his charming ways to another company and brought some of his Nazi brown shirts with him. Can you imagine escaping AZ and landing at Amgen only to find that asshole is your boss?

Rumor is March-May time frame. Just in time for the Crestor bye-bye party.

So, if march, stress the word if- warn act would require Jan . notification. If may, around time bonuses hit in March for warn notification. Doubting seriously it happens.

We will have hired another 200 reps by then. They are insane. A 50% layoff would be low.

You all are unreal! You put stupid comments like 50% would be low. Name me one company that has laid off more than 30% OF THEIR SALES FORCE in the last year. Big Pharma. Not R&D, Sales force

Not the person you are talking to, but, since AZ's last layoff, the following companies have either had one or more layoffs amounting to 30% and sometimes greater of their salesforce: (1) Forest/Actavis/Allergan; (2) soon, DSI; (3) Merck; (4) Pfizer; (5) Abbie/Abbott; (6)Sunovion and, (7) Novartis.

We first learned of our last layoff in 10/11, with it taking place in 03/12. I am sure there may be 1 or 2 more. Yes, AZ is due for a major layoff if you compare it to other companies out there. Only time will tell.

Continued layoffs and move to contract employees is not a matter of if it will happen but when it will happen. This has been an industry wide trend for a decade and will continue until few of us remain. Just look at the trends including the doing away of pensions. Times they are a changing. Get real and accept it. That is the first step in improving your life.

Wow, How quickly they forget. There was over a hundred of us that were part of the layoff just this year in PC. The official group termination date was 8/31/2015. I wish I still had my job but I don't miss the BS at all. And no, I have not found a job worth taking. Everyone wants "new to industry" or contract company's at half the salary.

    Enjoy the left overs!

Ah good one. Fante Thanksgiving voice mail reference. Classic

Oh yes, Fante, another example of failed AZ leaders who looked good on paper or when making sound bite statements in meetings but had the personality of a slug. This guy had absolutely no people skills. He couldn't say hello without making your skin crawl.

Poster #27 nailed yo ass bitch! Teaches you to have you shit together before you go running your mouth off! Seriously, AZ could easily let go 50% of us, and not miss a dime, and everyone knows it. If 10% of the sales force just worked a full day, it would add up to all of the field man-hours "worked" now by everyone! With 10% of us actually working, they could fire 90% of the rest! But that is not going to happen, because upper management would also have to go, and they are not going to put themselves out of work, and how would you identify the 10% that actually works?

My prediction is that we will have a very small layoff of less than 10%, maybe less. Just be a good ass kisser and you should survive to continue your 15 hour week.

This entire sales model of multiple reps selling the same products to the same customers has become totally insane. As group practices become even larger and gatekeepers so successful at eliminating access to offices, what did Pharma do? If two reps cannot gain access then let's add two more. Now we have four reps being paid nice salaries with benefits and company cars calling on offices that haven't allowed a rep to see a single Physician in years. So they cannot blame us for working 3 hours or less per day. They did it to themselves.

Absolutely correct! The model is so outdated, it's laughable! Yet, Frenchie and the Board are still stuck in the early 90's. Access is getting worse by the day, which causes reps to lie to hit their metrics. It's a game that they created with stupidity. But I guess we shouldn't complain, because I love those 3 hour work days! I will admit, it has made me extremely lazy!

More will be laid off. Especially in Oncology, where no real competitor for our recent approval.

What about the softball of all softball decisions? They need to cut managed markets by at least 50%. These overpaid, under worked bozos rarely leave their house. Cutting these losers would be a morale boost for the entire sales force. We are sick of seeing these pigs eating our food at meetings and then going out to a four star restaurant for dinner. What a total waste of money.

Good point. Why are we held to a limit for dinner expenses and the MMs team is allowed to routinely hold dinners at the finest restaurants? This has been going on for years and nobody seems to have the guts to stop it.

And yours is the .... Queen. When were you demoted into managed markets? Did you fail in your leadership position or did you shit in your own mess kit? Either way, you were most likely cast aside into the big black hole where all careers go to die. I bet you that I am correct.
