biggest issue is PFE management's lack of a long-term strategy. when things get tough, strategy goes out the window, and they default to their safe zones. Ian is an accountant. Nuf said.

I have a better idea. Let's cut all the entitlement programs and pork barrel projects that politicians have funded for decades. Then take the 2+ trillion dollars stolen from Social Security and make it whole.
Get the illegals out and that includes the prisons.
Once welfare recipients get off their lazy asses and get a job, the economy will improve and crime will go down.

Ireland has the fastest growing economy and job creation in the EU. Why? Lower taxes attract companies who hire employees who pay taxes which make up for more than they lose due to the lower corporate tax. Its better to have more people with jobs paying taxes than stifling corporations growth which lowers the amount of taxes paid despite a higher rate - it a downward spiral. Lower the US rate, companies will stay and come, hire people who will spend money in a better way than government ever will. This is not complicated.

OK, I know who you are and I'm going to make sure nobody in your family gets any more support from federal programs. And I'll make sure the town you live in doesn't get any federal money for roads, schools and law enforcement. Why? Because you're so damn stupid.

Why does it have to be all or nothing? Of course the federal government needs money for that stuff just not as much. The only money the government has is taken from us. I'm just saying take care of the infrastructure and needy but don't go over board the more money left in the peoples hands the better.

Get over it. Pfizer is late to the game on this and more will follow.

What's the point of being American if it puts you at a disadvantage against foreign competitors, costs billions of dollars and the money gets wasted on by corrupt politicians on wealth redistributionist Ponzi schemes, bridges to nowhere and more anti-business regulation.

Just keeping it real. Plus America doesn't own or start any companies, people do. It's still going to make money and employ American people so who cares where it's tax domicile is located. If it does matter, why does our country penalize companies for being domiciled here?

The government has a broad definition of needy. People who get migraines or back pain need disability checks, able-bodied desk workers need social security and Medicare at 65 years old even though they can work, able-bodied young women get checks because they had babies instead of going to school and able bodied young men need checks because their drug habit makes the unsuitable for work.

This country borrows $4 out every $10 it spends and $20 trillion in debt.

Be careful when you say take care of the needy. That's a long list of folks with their hands out.

Our President will make sure this merger doesn't happen! It is bad for US economy, workers, and global climate change! Stand up to the mega-corporations before it is too late!! Too big to fail - not without corporate welfare!!!

Amen. Half the population is on assistance with more to come. Most of the unemployed are the unemployable morons with no skills or the brains/ ambition to get some, many just plain don't want to work, period. The welfare slugs will always be a drain, as it runs generation to generation. Add the illegal immigrants and"refugees" into the mix, and there's nothing left for the truly needy....the guy or girl with two kids, a mortgage, aa dog, and an elderly mother to care for who lost his/ her job because some asshole CEO wanted to bump the stock to exercise some options.
Thank the Dems and their king fo much of this crap that has weakened this country to a point that we may never recover. Their answer is that once climate change is addressed so ISIS will disappear, all will be well.
I strongly believe we should help the truly needy. More job training vs. just out and out handouts is the only way. Remember, "give me a fish, I eat for a day; teach me to fish, I eat for a lifetime." Corny? Maybe. But it is the only way to get freeloaders off their asses and take responsibility for themselves.

That is such a stupid phrase to use today. Nobody fishes except the companies big enough to make a profit from it. Plus, there are so many rules and regulations placed on fishing that a man would have to give away two fish for every five fish he catches. Tax laws and regulation have destroyed any incentive for most to work hard. Just mooch off the system and then complain when that isn't enough.

The basis of this thread is B.S.

Who doesn't make decisions based on cost?

Where you shop, how much you buy, what you buy, when you buy, how you buy are based on cost.

The clothes you wear, the cars you drive, the houses you live were all purchased with cost as a significant factor in the decision.

Who doesn't buy products made in China? Hello, iPhone. The iPhone would cost over $1,000 if it was made in America. Would you own one now? Maybe you don't one. How's your South Korean Samsung?

So a company changes its address to save a few billion dollars. Now we're supposed to get angry. Big whoop! Dodd-Frank, corporate tax rates and two idiot political parties have screwed us all far worse than anything Pfizer has ever or could ever do to America, by far.

As a point of clarification I must correct you. The media would have you to believe that the immigration problem is illegal Mecicans coming across the boarder. The fact of the matter is there are more illegals coming from the east, China in particular, than Mexico.

As part as welfare, there are more whites, in particular females, on welfare than there are blacks. This is another miscalculated perception that the media would have you to believe. Don't believe me? Go look it up.

True. Disproportionate amount of blacks on welfare. They are their own worst enemy.

There's a reason Trump has been the front runner for so long. He represents Republican values so well. This may be an ugly truth but it's right out there for everyone to see.

But one would still have 3 fish to eat. We live in a parasitic society. The scumbag freeloaders suck their lives out of the people who work for a living, care about and provide for their families, and obey the law. The scumbags just take and give nothing back. Time to stop the welfare handouts. Let these pieces of shit starve. Those that wake up and realize that they are responsible for themselves will survive and the rest will perish. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Society will be a much better place without them.

You are really uneducated. I suppose it is also fair that nearly have our country pays no tax at all yet reap the benefits of those that do. Flat tax would be fair all the way around whether you make 5,000 or 5 million.

Bullshit. It will only perpetuate the welfare state we have now.
    What's the incentive to excell?
Why invest in startups, new technology, real estate, stocks, etc.? At least tax incentives buffer some of the risk.
The rich shoulder most of the burden now, flat tax won't change that.
JOBS are the only thing that will improve America, not taxing us into oblivion to fund all the handouts.

Remember, before there can be jobs, there must be profits. Only way to create jobs is to create profits unless you are tesla, amazon or any subsidized green energy company.
