I can't believe I am posting on a Saturday. My posts are long because like the NJ scientists, I need to make things easier for everyone to understand.

Merck KGaA is still pretty much owned by the family. Think of it as having rights to the Merck name anywhere outside the US and Canada. It's actually very confusing for the run of the mill person. The original Merck was created in the 1800's. Merck & Co was a arm of that company. Then the US government got involved in WWI or WWII and made them separate companies. Merck and Co. has not had the history of Merck KGaa. Schering had the same issue. Bayer bought Schering AG and Merck bought Schering-Plough.

I am glad that this is straightened out. Can't believe I had to give a history lesson for the people who "work" at Merck. Most of you don't.

Back to the HUB. NJ R&D is going away. It's not a HUB for anyone. There are more HUBS outside America than inside America for Merck and Co.

Boston is a HUB because of our history over the last 10 plus years. We are the innovators. These are the facts. If you reply back with anything but an agreement to this you are one of two things:

1. A troll
2. Someone who may have worked for Merck and Co. 20 years ago.

NJ Merck R&D is a not a HUB but a TUB of crap.

I do feel bad for the tens of thousands that were let go. If we moved out of the NJ R&D area years before we did, we would have been in a much better place by now. We depended on those idiots (scientists) to move the company forward and they failed. Actually they were an epic failure. You can thank them for the layoffs. They are lazy, unmotivated, vacuous and brainless. They were the major cause for any layoffs. You can spin that anyway you want. It's the truth.

Obviously very confusing. For you. It's pretty embarrassing that you finally had to search for "Merck" on wikipedia for the history lesson now, and not before you posted the emdgroup website. Couldn't admit that you made a mistake, huh?
