I want to close my tit in the car door so I can go home.

I can't take these two day field ride-dog and pony shows any longer!

Look here numb nuts or sugar tits (I don't know if you are male or female)

Doing field rides is part of the gig, live with it. Your manager expects you to have good enough relatioships so that you can say to your offices "Yeah my boss is coming, will you have a few minutes to see us?" They know it's a milk run. The only thing a manager wants to know is if you are working or not. They do this based on the relations and interactions. If every where you go the offices don't recognize you or they say "Wow I haven't seen you in a long time." Then that isn't good. If everywhere you go they all know you by, if not your name, at least call you by your product name, then you are probably working.

I am in the same boat. My manager has very few reps and is with us every single solitary month. Every time I see my manager it feels like I just saw my manager last week! It is ridiculous. When my manager rides with me or another rep, we often end up going to the same places. Let's face it, there are only so many places you can take your manager if they are to see you talk to someone without a lunch. I have a lot of offices where you can not see physicians without a lunch. Bottom line, the managers need more reps under them, otherwise, they become a pest.

Your manager is playing the same game you are. His manager wants to see his field activity reports and your manager is living the all day lie because there is no way to be truthful.

It is AZ management's fault. The RSD's play the same game. Pascal is playing games.

The issue is with the Board of Directors of this ship. She is sailing for Niagara Falls and will go over the precipice one day, sooner or later, AZ will fail.

Oncology doesn't need 2 day ride alongs.

Quit your whining it's no big deal. Take your manager on the milk run and don't worry about it.

I think my manager is great, but their presence in the territory is VERY excessive. Im grateful for my job and I am actually working hard at it. But the managers are removed from real world and I almost always have to make a repeat round to the doctors they pissed off because they pushes too hard, and it's embarrassing to watch. Many of these docs are people who see me because they know ME...it causes a big problem and our team is running out of places to take them.

I am going to offer a glimpse into the future.

As a member of an un named marketing brand team, I can tell you the plans are to push everything to contract reps. This would allow a 70% reduction in management teams, research shows there would be no impact on sales. This will happen by year end 2016.

Too funny! By the end of 2016, we will probably have added another 500 reps! The only you ARE right about is pushing everything to contract would not impact sales, but that ai't gonna happen bucks, because the need for "management" would all but disappear, and they ain't gonna cut their own throats! Nope, I can envision even more reps by the end of 2016!

The DSM position is so outdated. If this was an effective position at one time, that has changed forever. No HCP wants to see, or be confronted by, a DSM. MANY HCP's have closed access to these "managers" simply because they ask the dumbest questions possible. Truth be known, not one PSS does an honest days work on a ride along day. If they do, it's a milk run. Take a look at my numbers. Don't send me a babysitter to hold me back or to tell me silly stories about how to sell. We've all watched those promoted to DSM's from the PSS positions who never ever moved market share, but checked all the silly blocks along the way. Please!!

I know what you are saying. It is a challenge to find places to take these managers. I have places that do not allow managers. Oh, I wonder why that is? They allow reps, but not managers? What does that tell you? Manager ride alongs usually get us behind on what we really need to be doing.

Indeed, like getting our shopping done at the mall, our work out at the gym, and taking in that movie that just came out during the week and avoiding the weekend crowds.
