My overzealous manager got rid of me years ago, and although I received a severance, it was technically a termination, and my understanding was that I was "not hireable" after that. Seems strange that I today received an email about a "Virtual Career Open House", with a link to participate. You'd think they would have a database of names that were not hireable...

    Good for you.

BMS sucks anyway, so they did you a favor.

    Give thanks!

I received the same invitation as an active employee. I think it was sent as a mass communication based on GlassDoor subscribers.

Total sh*#t hole company. I too was let go due a boss that had no confidence (rightly so, she only had limited skills) and only had her job for "obvious" reasons. To this day, the jackassess still send me retirement information...In hindsight, while devasting at the time, it's the best thing that coulde have happended to me. I've been at several pharma/biotech companies and have been in a different industry, but BMS is by far that biggest pile of crap that I've ever worked for.

And we can all tell you're so over it, no grudges or lingering bitterness, none at all. No way, you've moved on

Always remember; "The kids at Bristol are sharp as a thistle, when they do the Bristol Stomp. It's really somethin' when the joint is jumpin', when they do the Bristol Stomp! It started at Bristol (BMS), at a DJ HOP! They holler and whistle, never want to stop! And here's the latest, it's a crazy site to see..........."

All big Pharma sucks all the time. Same shit, different toilet.

I went from years at AZ to smaller companies for 4 years and then in 2009 tried to go back to big Pharma with Sanofi. After two weeks in training and going to the home office for a week I flunked the test on purpose to get let go, got on unemployment and found another job with a small company again.

Big pharma is only good if you need experience or if you want to ladder climb.

Your the exception…congratulations! I knew only "one" person during by twenty-plus years with BMS that was hired back. I have been waiting "five years" without any employment…can't hide your age during an "in-person interview." (if over 55…your future in the pharmaceutical industry is probably over unless you were a manager) Always felt that management could care less what happened to you and your family…even though the company expressed how much "human lives" meant. This is one time, I wish I was wrong!!!

Human lives are only a means to profit, pharma is no different than selling used cars.
