Do a lot of MSLs attend these meetings? I have never been and am curious if I should sign up to go and if it would be worth my while to learn, network, etc. Thank you in advance

Great question. I have managed MSLs in multiple countries during my 14 year career and the MSL Society meetings are fantastic meetings based on the feedback of those in attendance. Our conferences are unique in that pharma companies host our conferences. This provides a high level of credibility for the meetings and demonstrates the value of our meetings.

Our meetings are a unique opportunity to network with colleagues to discuss relevant topics such as best practices and innovative approaches to the MSL role to improve your team's performance in a very collaborative environment. We had a very large number of MSLs attend our last meeting.

Here are some Great Reasons to Attend!

SPEAKERS that are actually MSL leaders and have experience in the MSL role!
Our conferences assemble global speakers who are ACTUALLY MSL leaders with a wealth of knowledge and years of MSL experience and will share their insights. We DO NOT allow sponsors or 3rd party companies to speak. We feel that current MSL leaders are in the best possible position to add value to attendees.

VALUE-We provide substantial value through the exchange of best practices, thoughtful discussions and engagement with attendees. It is truly a learning and sharing environment.

OPPORTUNITY to help support the ONLY 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that is dedicated to advancing the global MSL career. ALL proceeds from our conferences go back into the organization to create useful resources for the MSL community.

    UNIQUE Networking opportunities!
We will have multiple networking opportunities including a welcome reception the first evening followed by the second evening with a reception; and 45 minute networking breaks throughout the conference.

All of this is to provide ample opportunity to build your network and to Establish new relationships while engaging during lively discussions on relevant topics.

Old post but what a dick.
Writes a question and then writes a self congratulatory response. He makes money on this stuff and is still at it with a vengence today.

Not to be trusted in my opinion.

Seriously! Why do we need an MSL society? What a parasite.

    Medical Science Liaison Society/Samuel Dyer

His name and his "non-profit" organization are coming up in every online search for MSL term. I am trying to understand what his organization does and what his expertise is. Has anybody interacted with this guy?

He has zero experience. He doesn't know the first thing about the MSL role. Complete fraud.

    Zero experience?

His linkedin profile shows an impressive list of MSL positions including high level managerial positions in brand name companies.

The MSL society meetings are a complete waste of time and money. Take it from someone who attended one and who had several employees attend. We took away nothing of benefit.

MSL Society, ACMA and all of the other non-BPS (Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties) certifications are worthless. They want several thousand dollars and promise employment in medical affairs positions to losers who don't have licenses or are on the verge of losing them. Some idiot keeps yapping that "many companies are requiring" the BCMAS, problem is the putz is too chickenshit to list which companies he/she asserts are requiring that waste of cash.

As for MSL society, run by a lying jerk and his wife.

Agree. SD is a parasite within the industry. He never managed anyone in the pharma roles in his career and his tenures were all short lived. He once interviewed for an MSL job and was arrogant and pompous. MSLS is a profit generating outfit to line his pockets.

Why not have the MSL Society Meeting in Hilton Head, Pebble Beach or Pinehurst? Then I can expense a golf trip.

Why do you need a fake meeting to do that? I just booked the America Club in Kohler for 4 days the next time I am in Milwaukee
